Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shamus McFey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robb Spewak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spewak has chosen The German National Anthem as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shamus McFey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Robb Spewak!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Mauricio Rocha and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spewak moves away from the strike by McFey.
McFey ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Spewak shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Spewak was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McFey is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Spewak throws some wild stikes that McFey manages to avoid easily.
Spewak can't control as he wanted to and McFey manages to get the fight back to his half guard.
McFey might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Spewak is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Spewak seems to be working for a kimura but McFey defends the submission attempt.
McFey is looking to control Spewak's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can McFey avoid being mounted?

Spewak is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

McFey looking for submissions off his back.
Spewak wants to take a breather but McFey is having none of it.

Spewak is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
McFey gets full guard.

Spewak postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! McFey is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Spewak, into his guard.
McFey engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Spewak trying to keep a closed guard but McFey is proving a slippery customer.
McFey missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
McFey stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Spewak swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Spewak avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
McFey tries to free his leg and advance position but Spewak is retaining full guard.
McFey is fighting to break Spewak's control of his arms but Spewak is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Spewak looking for a guillotine here but McFey defends easily.
McFey is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

McFey connects with a couple of short punches.

Spewak has his foot on McFey's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. McFey works his way back into a safe position though.
McFey in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
McFey throws a big right hand that misses.
McFey wants to control from the top but Spewak keeps moving.
McFey postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
McFey pushing down on Spewak's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

McFey is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Spewak sees it coming and defends easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
McFey seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Spewak has hold of McFey's hands but McFey slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shamus McFey dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Spewak throws the left hand but McFey avoids the punch easily.
Spewak has his takedown stuffed
and McFey counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
McFey throws a shot from downtown. Spewak moves away and avoids it.
A jab from McFey does it's job there.
A punch lands to the side of Spewak 's head but he takes it in his stride.
McFey is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Spewak fails with the takedown
and McFey counters with a thumping low kick.
Spewak has his takedown stuffed

and McFey counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Shamus McFey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Robb Spewak.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Spewak can't keep his opponent in guard - McFey advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Spewak looking for submissions off his back.
McFey is nestled in close to Spewak, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Spewak is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McFey scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Spewak trying to control from the bottom.
Nice strikes from McFey there.
Spewak tries to roll over but McFey keeps him under control.

Spewak looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
McFey working the head and body with strikes.
McFey stalling.
McFey slips a nice elbow through Spewak's hands, connecting with Spewak's forehead.

Spewak is trying to stand back up but McFey is controlling him

McFey seems to be working for a kimura but Spewak defends the submission attempt.
McFey has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
McFey winds up and cracks Spewak with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
McFey not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Spewak wants to get back to full guard.
McFey passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Spewak!
McFey scoring with strikes but Spewak is staying in there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Spewak working to try and regain half guard.
McFey landing strikes from the mount.
Spewak is in a horrible position here. McFey smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
McFey punishing his opponent with strikes.
McFey trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Spewak is bucking up trying to escape but McFey cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Spewak wants to hold on but McFey pushes him away.
McFey lands a big elbow.


Spewak is rocked!
McFey unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Spewak wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! McFey celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Shamus McFey!
After winning the bout, Shamus McFey thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
