Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Antonio Deneiro! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tito Acton! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Thiago Cunha and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Acton blocks a head kick by Deneiro.
Acton looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Acton missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Acton with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Acton trying to mount his opponent but Deneiro defends it. Acton controlling the action here. Deneiro is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Acton pulls his head out easily. Acton is figuring out what he wants to do next. Deneiro really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Acton throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Acton perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Acton stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Deneiro to get to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Deneiro gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Acton counters with a shoot takedown. Deneiro fights it but they end up in guard. Acton controlling from the top position. Deneiro had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Acton is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Deneiro Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Acton's back instead. Acton is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Acton controlling Deneiro 's hands. Acton tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Acton regains half guard. Deneiro is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Acton has managed to free his arm - good work. Deneiro is breathing heavily. Acton keeping control of the position. Acton trying to hold on to Deneiro's head to control him but Deneiro postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Acton is pressing down on Deneiro's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Deneiro wants to pass the guard but Acton is keeping the position. Acton working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Deneiro doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Acton is tightening it up a little... Deneiro has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Deneiro reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Deneiro taps out! nice BJJ there by Acton!
