Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Zappa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Voll (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Voll's choice of entrance music: Monster Magnet - Powertrip . Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Ben Zyskovitsi and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zappa shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Voll counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Zappa throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Zappa swats away the attempt to clinch by Voll.
Nice takedown defense from Voll. No joy for Zappa on that attempt.
Voll blocks a low kick nicely.
Zappa staying out of range there.
Zappa shoots in for a takedown but Voll shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Zappa. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nice straight punches there by Voll. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Voll.
It looks like Frank Zappa has been cut.

Zappa shoots in for a double leg but Voll sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Voll really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Zappa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Zappa tries to free his leg and advance position but Voll is retaining full guard.
Zappa drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Zappa jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Voll lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Zappa!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Zappa is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Voll is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Voll thows a huge punch but Zappa dodges it nicely.

Zappa swings away with a leg kick that misses.

That's time! Zappa's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Zappa takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Zappa moves out of range of the strikes.
Voll leaves Zappa with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Zappa shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Voll but Voll pushes him off and we're back to square one.

and Zappa counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

A looping hook to the body misses from Zappa. Voll does a little dance to reset his feet.
Zappa changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Voll tries to avoid it but Zappa manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Voll to the ground. Voll escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Voll misses with a few strikes there.

Zappa shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Voll sprawls well. Voll wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Zappa gets slowly back to his feet.
Voll moves out of range of the leg kick from Zappa.
Zappa closes the distance and clinches up with Voll, looking for a takedown. Zappa pushes Voll against the ropes but Voll circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Voll throws a push kick but Zappa slaps the foot to one side.
Zappa displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Voll throws out the jab.

and Zappa counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Horrible takedown by Zappa or perhaps it was just good defense by Voll which made him look bad.
Zappa closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Voll throws a lazy right hand but Zappa sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Zappa lands a nice shot that snaps Voll's head back.
Voll dips to his left and cracks Zappa with an uppercut!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Zappa.

Frank Voll seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Zappa shoots in for a double leg but Voll sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Zappa motions for Voll to come forward. Zappa throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Frank Voll showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Voll is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Frank Zappa overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Zappa is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Voll has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Voll!

Zappa wants to stand and escape but Voll is having none of it.
Zappa keeping moving, preventing Voll from controlling successfully.
Voll prevents Zappa from getting back to his feet.
Zappa is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Voll must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Zappa working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Voll doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Zappa is tightening it up a little... Voll has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Voll reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Voll taps out! Nice BJJ there by Zappa!
