Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Santiago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nike Mombai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Santiago comes to the cage accompanied by Kanye West - Stronger. Nike Mombai will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Nike Mombai! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Jeff Smith and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mombai lands a two punch combo.
It looks like Bobby Santiago has been cut. Santiago shoots in looking for a takedown. Mombai tries to sprawl out of it but Santiago keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mombai manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Santiago with a poor takedown and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Santiago checks a leg kick. Mombai throws a sloppy head kick and Santiago moves out of range easily. Santiago shoots in and drives through. Mombai sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bobby Santiago. That's going to take a lot out of him. Santiago misses with a hook. Mombai ducked under it nicely. An inside leg kick from Mombai misses. Santiago throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Mombai sees it coming and avoids it easily. Santiago shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mombai as he avoids it easily. Santiago misses with a looping right. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Mombai lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Mombai lands a slapping body shot.
Nike Mombai is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Santiago gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Mombai scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Santiago looks to score with a jab to the body but Mombai is just out of range. Mombai misses with an uppercut. Santiago saw that one coming. Mombai is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Santiago keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Mombai gets caught flat footed, as Santiago shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mombai keeping full guard, as Santiago tries to pass. Santiago trying to control but Mombai is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Mombai holds on and takes a little breather. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Santiago pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mombai is keeping the position for now. Santiago trying to control but Mombai is working from the bottom.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Mombai misses with a low kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Santiago ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Santiago is defended easily by Mombai. A solid leg kick lands there for Mombai.
Mombai throws the left hand but Santiago avoids the punch easily. Santiago throws a body punch but Mombai moves out of range. Mombai looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Mombai throws a sloppy head kick and Santiago moves out of range easily. Mombai avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Mombai stuffs the takedown.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mombai lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Santiago throws a big shot that misses. Mombai lands with a thumping leg kick.
Mombai scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Bobby Santiago seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Santiago cracks Mombai with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Mombai moves out of range of the strikes. Mombai just misses with a punch to the body.
Santiago has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Santiago there as he acknowledges the shot. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Santiago jabbing away but nothing is landing. Santiago takes one to the side of the head.

and Mombai counters with a nice body shot. Santiago fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Mombai manages to avoid it. Santiago lands a glancing blow to the side of Mombai's head. Nike Mombai seems to be getting the better of the standup. Mombai is looking to slow Santiago down with leg kicks. Santiago misses with a lunging right hand
and Mombai counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Mombai has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Mombai misses with a body shot.
Santiago throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mombai's waist but Mombai gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Santiago off to one side. Santiago misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Mombai.

That's one minute gone in the round. A big right from Mombai misses. Santiago shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Santiago closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mombai circles away. Santiago misses the shot to the body. Santiago shoots in looking for a takedown but Mombai manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Santiago's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bobby Santiago. That's going to take a lot out of him. Santiago scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Santiago throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Santiago looks up at the clock and then as Mombai takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Santiago smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Santiago wants to control but Mombai is keeping him busy. Santiago is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Mombai has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Santiago is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Mombai is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Santiago throws an elbow but Mombai slips to the side and avoids it well. Santiago wants to control but Mombai is keeping him busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mombai prevents Santiago from improving position. Mombai wants to get back to his feet but Santiago drags him back down. Santiago tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Santiago has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Santiago tries to advance to mount but can't.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Santiago is working hard here to advance position. Mombai gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Mombai won't allow Santiago to pass to mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A looping hook to the body misses from Santiago. Mombai does a little dance to reset his feet. Santiago swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Mombai clinches with his opponent.

Mombai throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Santiagos head. Santiago is trying to maintain a safe position but Mombai gets an underhook and turns Santiago into the cage. Santiago is trying to break the clinch but Mombai is controlling him. Santiago trying to stall but Mombai improves his position.
Still in the clinch, Mombai scores with a nice short uppercut. Mombai scores with a shoulder strike. Santiago trying to stall but Mombai improves his position.

That's one minute gone in the round. Mombai effectively controlling the action here. Mombai lands a shoulder strike. Mombai blocks an elbow strike. A frustrated look appears on Santiago's face as he tries to break the clinch. Mombai is pushing Santiago up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Mombai gets through Santiago's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Mombai lands a right hand. Mombai lands a left hand.
Santiago looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Santiago is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Mombai is keeping busy. Santiago blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mombai swings wildly with an uppercut but Santiago uses good head movement to avoid it. Santiago misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Mombai.
Mombai lands a hook to the side of the head. Mombai lands with a short shot to the head. Mombai throws an elbow that misses.
Santiago letting Mombai take a breather here. Santiago has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Mombai avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Santiago is trying to break the clinch but Mombai is controlling him. Mombai lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Santiago backwards. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A short right from Mombai. Santiago wants to stall.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Mombai lands a shoulder strike. Mombai's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. A swing and a miss from Santiago.

A chopping leg kick lands by Mombai. The fight stays on the outside here - Mombai looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Santiago throws a lazy right hand but Mombai sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. A nice inside leg kick there by Mombai. That's going to slow Santiago down. A head kick by Mombai misses and Santiago counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
And that's the end of the fight! Nike Mombai comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Mombai has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
