Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Barney Stinson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Gabz Severi! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Steven Brown and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Severi tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Stinson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Stinson throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Danga de danga de dang - Stinson scores with a four punch combination! Stinson keeps the fight on the outside. Severi uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Stinson. Gabz Severi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Severi tries to close the distance and clinch but Stinson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Severi falls off balance throwing a combination
and Stinson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Some wild striking there from Stinson.
Stinson tries to keep at a distance but Severi has taken the fight into the clinch. Stinson takes an elbow to the forehead.
It looks like Barney Stinson has been cut. Severi lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Stinson takes an elbow to the temple. This has been an exciting period of action! Stinson avoids the elbow strike from Severi, against the cage.
Severi keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Stinson's efforts to push away. Severi misses with an elbow strike.
Severi lands a damaging elbow. Stinson dodges an elbow strike from Severi.
Stinson has picked Severi up - he's going for a ride! Stinson dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Stinson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Severi knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Severi makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Severi tries to close the distance and clinch up but Stinson swats him away and circles back towards the center. Stinson is aggressively charging in as Severi backs up avoiding any damage. Severi tosses out a jab and Stinson runs right into it face first! Stinson is out cold! Severi dropped down on all fours and is barking in Stinson's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Gabz Severi! Our winner, Gabz Severi, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
