PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jeff Probst (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Gordon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Probst's entrance music is Ballad of Worms. A fine choice. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jeff Probst!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Michael Gordon!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Elvis Blanc and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Gordon misses.
Probst pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Gordon misses with a takedown attempt - Probst sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Gordon shoots in but Probst avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Gordon takes a swing at Probst's ribcage but misses.

Gordon shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Probst napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Gordon is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Probst is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Probst wants to control but Gordon postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gordon is trying to get an arm triangle but Probst is defending well.
Probst takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Probst regains half guard.

Gordon stands up and beckons Probst to join him on the feet.
Gordon shoots in and drives through. Probst sprawls well.
Jeff Probst has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michael Gordon.

and Gordon counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Gordon is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Probst is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Probst has escaped and now he's on top!

Probst got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gordon has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Probst has managed to get both his arms back between Gordon's legs - danger averted.

Gordon escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Probst gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Gordon had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Probst defends it easily.

Gordon working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Probst doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Probst manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Gordon throws his legs up looking for a submission but Probst uses it to pass to side control.

Probst wants to control but Gordon is keeping him busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Probst happy to just control the position for now.
Gordon is looking to regain half guard here but Probst keeps moving and retains side control.
Gordon is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Probst off and has taken his back!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Gordon has Probst pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Probst manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Gordon changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Probst tries to avoid it but Gordon manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Probst to the ground. Probst escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Probst stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Probst wants it to stay on the feet.
