Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Rivera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Lionard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Rivera! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tony Lionard! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Chad Campbell and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lionard closes the distance and clinches up with Rivera, looking for a takedown. Lionard pushes Rivera against the cage but Rivera circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Lionard shoots in looking for a takedown. Rivera tries to sprawl out of it but Lionard keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rivera manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Rivera fails with a takedown attempt. Rivera works over Lionard's head and body with a nice combination. Lionard is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Rivera looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Rivera throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lionard's waist but Lionard gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rivera off to one side. Lionard shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rivera but Rivera pushes him off and we're back to square one. James Rivera has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tony Lionard. Lionard takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Rivera shoots for a takedown but Lionard saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Lionard closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Lionard trying to control the position but Rivera is working away. Lionard might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Rivera kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sloppy strikes there by Lionard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lionard is looking to take a break and control but Rivera is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Rivera is trying to control Lionard's posture but Lionard avoids it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Lionard swings around for an armbar but Rivera sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Lionard's guard. Lionard looks gassed! Lionard is trying to keep Rivera in close.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rivera accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Rivera lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Rivera preventing the sweep. Rivera drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Lionard manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Rivera has Lionard in his guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lionard showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Tony Lionard has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Lionard looks for a takedown but Rivera sprawls well. Rivera lands a two punch combo.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rivera looks to land a combination but Lionard avoids it well. A nice combination there by Rivera.
Rivera looks for a takedown but Lionard sprawls well. Rivera fails in his attempt to clinch. Lionard shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Rivera napping and manages to drive through into side control! Lionard controls the position from side control. Rivera takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

That was a close round but I would say that James Rivera will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Lionard tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rivera swivels and escapes. Rivera tries to bum rush Lionard with a series of wild strikes but Lionard uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Rivera swinging wildly here.
Rivera fails with a takedown attempt. James Rivera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rivera doesn't manage to clinch there - Lionard circles away.
Lionard shoots in but no luck this time. Lionard moves into the clinch. Lionard lands a takedown into guard.
Lionard wants to control from the top but Rivera keeps moving. Rivera knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lionard on the ground. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Lionard looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Tony Lionard hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Rivera lands a two punch combo.
Lionard tries to keep at a distance but Rivera has taken the fight into the clinch. Lionard tries for a takedown. No joy.
James Rivera has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tony Lionard. Rivera's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. James Rivera is winning the standup battle so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rivera throws a sloppy head kick and Lionard moves out of range easily. Rivera tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Lionard swivels and escapes. Lionard shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Lionard trying to control but he's not successful this time. Lionard swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Rivera is now in Lionard's guard. A big mistake from Lionard there, giving up the dominant position! Lionard is trying to control the position but Rivera postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rivera wants to stand but Lionard has a closed guard, so he can't escape. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Lionard wants to stand but Rivera is controlling the position.

Lionard lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Rivera backs up against the cage.
Lionard closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lionard lands in his opponent's guard. Lionard controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Lionard stands and steps away. Rivera gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tony Lionard showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Rivera's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Rivera pushes Lionard up against the cage in a clinch. Lionard tries to stall but Rivera uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Lionard will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Rivera goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. The fight stays on the outside here - Rivera looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Rivera moves into range and clinches up with Lionard. Lionard wants a takedown but no success here.
Rivera breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Rivera shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lionard pinned against the cage. Lionard gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Lionard tries to bum rush Rivera with a series of wild strikes but Rivera uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lionard looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Rivera! Lionard misses with a head shot. Lionard trying to control but he's not successful this time. Rivera prevents Lionard from taking his back. Rivera is desperately trying to improve his position but Lionard has a good base and remains in mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rivera is working hard here to advance position. Lionard is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Rivera has managed to escape the submission attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lionard landing strikes from the mount. Rivera really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Lionard controlling from the full mount. Rivera is squirming around, avoiding Lionard's attempts to control the action.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lionard working the ground and pound effectively.
Lionard pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Lionard content just to control the position here.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Tony Lionard. I think Lionard has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
