Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Jedi Mindtricks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
12 - 22 - 0, fighting out of London, John Flare!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Colin Fotheringham and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flare takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Flare throws a sloppy head kick and Mindtricks moves out of range easily.
Mindtricks throws a hook but Flare blocks it.
Flare walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Mindtricks misses with a hook
and Flare holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Flare prevents the takedown attempt.
Flare is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Flare tries for a takedown. No joy.
Mindtricks is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Flare pulls him back up using the underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jedi Mindtricks. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mindtricks wants the takedown. Flare is fighting it off but Mindtricks persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Flare's guard against the cage.
Flare is pulling down on Mindtricks's head to control his posture.
Mindtricks wants to pass the guard but Flare is keeping the position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mindtricks throws a strike but Flare rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Flare trying to control but Mindtricks is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Flare stands up from Mindtricks's guard - Flare perhaps looking for a knockout.
Flare lands the left hand.
Flare clinches.
Mindtricks decides to pull guard.
Flare is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Mindtricks is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Mindtricks has escaped and now he's on top!
Mindtricks is sitting in close to Flare's body. Flare has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Mindtricks is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Mindtricks is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Flare.
