Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between BJ Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gomi Bakanori (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Penn comes to the cage accompanied by David Guetta - Titanium. Bakanori has chosen Robinson as his entrance music. Gomi Bakanori will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, BJ Penn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Gomi Bakanori! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Hirohito Nitta and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Penn tries to score with a low kick but Bakanori moves his leg out of the way. Excellent takedown into side control there by Penn. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Penn is trying to get an arm triangle but Bakanori is defending well. Penn tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Penn working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Bakanori tries to get back to half guard but can't. Bakanori throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land. Bakanori is not content to let Penn control the position. Penn is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bakanori is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Bakanori really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Penn. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bakanori can't do much from the bottom here. Bakanori manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Bakanori moves into full guard.
Penn won't allow Bakanori to sweep him here. Penn throwing strikes from guard but Bakanori blocks nicely. Penn drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Penn jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Penn looking to pass the guard. Bakanori trying to keep a closed guard but Penn is proving a slippery customer.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Penn trying to control the position from guard on top but Bakanori is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bakanori is working an open guard so Penn takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Penn shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Penn showed some decent athleticism there. Penn is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Bakanori doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Penn. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Penn is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bakanori defends it well. Bakanori is trying to get back to full guard. Bakanori is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Penn decides to return to a standing position. A punch combination from Bakanori misses. Bakanori lands with a shot to the body. Bakanori lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Bakanori lands with a shot to the body. Bakanori checks a leg kick. Bakanori connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Bakanori fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Penn. Bakanori digs a good body shot into Penn's ribs. Penn's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Bakanori connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Penn scrambles back to his feet. Penn pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Bakanori keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. BJ Penn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A low kick from Penn misses and Penn takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Bakanori jabs at Penn's body. Penn is breathing heavily. Some bone on bone action there as Bakanori checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Penn fails with the takedown and Bakanori counters with a right, left combo that wobbles Penn badly! Bakanori follows up with a massive right hook, straight to the bridge of the nose that knocks Penn out cold! Oh wow, what a finish! Very reminiscent of Koscheck vs Yoshida as Bakanori finished him against the cage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Gomi Bakanori! A very excited looking Gomi Bakanori made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
