Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tyson Ryder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Calia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryder comes to the cage accompanied by Say It To My Face. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tyson Ryder! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Calia! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Dean Styles and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ryder shoots in for a takedown but Calia shows good takedown defense. Calia tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Ryder holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Calia successfully pulls guard.
Calia utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Ryder thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Calia looking for a sweep. Not yet Calia, not yet. Ryder throws an elbow that misses. Calia uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Ryder's guard. Nice move by Calia! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ryder looking for a guillotine here but Calia defends easily.

Ryder pulls Calia in to control the position. Calia controls from within his opponent's guard. Calia passes easily into side control. Nice work. Ryder sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Ryder is refusing to be controlled, as Calia sits in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Calia throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Calia decides to stand up. Calia is looking to take this fight into the clinch. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Calia stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Calia wants it to stay on the feet. Ryder throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Calia's waist but Calia gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ryder off to one side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tyson Ryder. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ryder shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Calia as he jumps to the side. Ryder is breathing heavily. Calia pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Calia doesn't manage to clinch there - Ryder circles away.

Calia is pressed up against the cage. Ryder has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Calia down to the mat. Calia avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Calia has closed the distance and engaged Ryder in a clinch.

Calia is fighting off a takedown attempt but Ryder is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Calia to the mat. Calia regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Calia tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Ryder manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Ryder takes one to the chin there. Calia tries to close the distance and clinch but Ryder swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Calia fails with an attempt to clinch.
Calia moves into the clinch. Calia with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Ryder tries to pull guard but Calia holds him up against the cage and eventually Ryder drops back down to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ryder tries to pull guard but Calia won't allow it.
Calia lands an elbow inside that Ryder shrugs off. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but James Calia will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Calia moves into the clinch. Ryder misses with a hook from the clinch. Ryder wants to get back to striking at distance but Calia won't allow it.

Calia will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Ryder up against the cage. Ryder is looking to take this one to the mat. Calia rushes Ryder and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Ryder is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Calia to keep the fight standing. Calia ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Calia no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Calia is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Calia avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Calia is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Ryder looking for submissions off his back. Ryder moves into full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Calia stands and steps away. Ryder gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Calia takes the fight into the clinch. Ryder tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Calia smiles and moves away.
Calia drives through and clinches with Ryder against the cage.
Calia's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. No luck with that takedown attempt from Ryder. Calia is looking to clinch but Ryder is avoiding it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Calia tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ryder paws at him with a jab and circles away. Calia rushes Ryder and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Calia unloads a knee to the mid-section. Ryder tries for a takedown. No joy.

A kick lands to the mid section there for Calia. Ryder closes the distance but Calia moves to the side and Calia counters with a flying knee. Nice. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Calia wants to clinch up but Ryder keeps it at a distance. Calia clinches with his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Calia showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!
Calia misses with a body kick. Calia fails in his attempt to clinch. A chopping leg kick lands by Calia. Ryder manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Calia on his heels. He'll look to pass Calia's guard now, I'm sure. Calia wants to sweep but no luck. Ryder postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Calia working a defensive guard here.

Ryder is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Calia is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Calia has escaped and now he's on top! Ryder is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Calia trying to control but Ryder is working from the bottom. Calia wants to pass the guard but Ryder is keeping the position. Calia must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Ryder is trying to maintain the position but Calia is very close to passing his half guard. Still in half guard, Calia seems content to control. Calia wants to work for an arm triangle but Ryder is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Ryder is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Calia is thwarting Ryder's attempts to control the position. Tyson Ryder has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! James Calia is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Ryder actively working from the bottom here.
