Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, GameBred Bjj!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Cole Burns!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Matheus Silva and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burns stalks Bjj and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Bjj's face. Bjj staggers backwards, shaken.
Burns shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Burns was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Burns throws a strike there. Bjj manages to avoid it well and slips a leg under to get to half guard.
Bjj is trying to stand back up but Burns is controlling him
Bjj makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bjj gets caught flat footed, as Burns shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Bjj pushes Burns off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Burns lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Burns scores a takedown into full mount!
Burns throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
You get the feeling that Bjj really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Bjj holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Burns tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Burns tries to control but Bjj wriggling away.

Burns punching from mount but Bjj doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Burns is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Bjj has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Bjj!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Burns is working an open guard so Bjj takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Burns gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Burns gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Bjj really is a fat lump.
Burns is trying to control the action in half guard but Bjj is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Burns is stalling here. Bjj is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Burns seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Bjj has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Burns tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Bjj easily slips into full mount!
Bjj stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Bjj gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bjj pushes Burns off and gets back to his feet.

Burns scores with a head kick. Bjj tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Burns closes the distance and pushes Bjj back into the cage.
Bjj has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
Burns is looking to break free of the clinch but Bjj has double underhooks.
A nice left hand lands by Burns.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Bjj wants to stall.
Burns manages to pull guard.
Burns is trying to control the position but Bjj postures up.

Burns might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Bjj kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Burns wants to stand and escape but Bjj is having none of it.
Burns wants to control but Bjj passes easily into half guard.
Burns has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bjj is working away from the top position though.

Burns drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Bjj tries to escape but Burns is in control.
Burns wants to control but Bjj is keeping him busy.
Bjj explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

Bjj trying to control the position but instead, Burns has worked for underhooks and has pushed Bjj into the cage.
Burns pulls guard successfully.
Bjj stands up from Burns's guard - Bjj perhaps looking for a knockout.
Burns with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

and Burns makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Bjj really felt that one!
A punch lands to the side of Bjj 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Burns lands a high kick!

and Burns counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Burns shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Bjj kicks Burns off and gets back to his feet.
And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.
Cole Burns showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Burns feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Bjj tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Burns was well out of range. Poor timing from Bjj.
Burns changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bjj looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Burns closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Bjj is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Burns asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Bjj throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

and Burns counters with a good, hard body kick but Bjj shrugs it off.
Burns shoots in and gets a takedown into Bjj's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Burns looking to sit in guard and control but Bjj gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Bjj stands up and waves to Burns to follow him.

Burns throws an elbow that misses. Bjj uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Burns's guard. Nice move by Bjj!

Bjj stands and steps away. Burns gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Cole Burns comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Burns has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
