Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stu Mercer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and KO Kid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Mercer might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Trapt-Still Frame. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Stu Mercer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, KO Kid! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Matheus Silva and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kid shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Kid steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Mercer. That one must have hurt. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Kid crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Mercer - the referee stops the clock and Kid gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Mercer. Kid manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Mercer clinches up with Kid and pushes him back against the cage. Kid is trying to pull guard but Mercer turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Mercer lands a knee to the head.
It looks like KO Kid has been cut. A bit of stalling here from Mercer.
Kid is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Kid is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Mercer is defending well. Stu Mercer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of KO Kid. Mercer lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Kid takes an elbow to the forehead. Mercer drops Kid with a big knee straight up the middle! Kid is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet! Kid looks gassed! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Mercer lands a nice looking body kick. Mercer rushes Kid and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Mercer landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Mercer lands an elbow that stopped Kid in his tracks for a moment. Mercer controlling the action here for a moment.
Mercer unloads a knee to the mid-section. Kid lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kid letting Mercer take a breather here. Mercer scores with a knee to the head.
Mercer misses with a knee strike.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Mercer lands an elbow inside that Kid shrugs off.
That has opened up KO Kid's cut even more. Mercer throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Kid blocks it with crossed arms. Kid takes an elbow to the forehead. Mercer throws a knee to the head but misses.
Nice elbow from Mercer. Mercer lands a knee to the body.
Mercer is looking to land a big knee to finish this one. He's got control of the head and as Kid tries to break Mercer's hands from around his neck, Mercer unloads with that fight ending knee, right up the middle! Oh man, that was nasty! Kid will need to get back to the training room and learn how to defend against the thai clinch! Oooh, his nose is a mess. Hopefully it's not broken.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Knee). Stu Mercer! A very excited looking Stu Mercer rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
