Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Royce Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takacheda Maushihiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Royce Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Takacheda Maushihiro!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Emerson Jorge and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maushihiro gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Maushihiro working hard to break the clinch.
Gracie manages to pull guard.
Gracie has momentary wrist control but Maushihiro slips an elbow through the middle.
Maushihiro throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gracie works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Maushihiro trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Gracie preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Maushihiro content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Maushihiro got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gracie has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Maushihiro has managed to get both his arms back between Gracie's legs - danger averted.
Gracie is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Maushihiro is aware though and is defending well.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Maushihiro throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Maushihiro must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Maushihiro in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Gracie looking for a guillotine here but Maushihiro defends easily.
Gracie working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Maushihiro doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Maushihiro manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Maushihiro keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Gracie's head.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gracie throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Maushihiro slips nicely into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Maushihiro passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Gracie!
Maushihiro lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Gracie is bucking up trying to escape but Maushihiro cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Gracie defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Maushihiro.
Maushihiro blocks Gracie's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Gracie is looking to improve his position but Maushihiro isn't that keen on the idea.
Maushihiro lands with some strikes.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gracie tries to reverse the position but Maushihiro maintains control.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Maushihiro goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Gracie turns into him and now he's in Maushihiro's guard.
Maushihiro working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Gracie.
Gracie wants to control from the top but Maushihiro keeps moving.
Gracie has gone for a leg lock! Maushihiro slips out almost immediately though and dives into Gracie's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gracie is breathing heavily.
Maushihiro trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Maushihiro works over Gracie with some ground and pound from guard.
Maushihiro has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Gracie to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Maushihiro is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Gracie pulls down on the head and he's put Maushihiro to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Royce Gracie!
