Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jeremy Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Winter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson comes to the cage accompanied by . Winter has chosen ICE COLD as his entrance music. Jack Winter told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

37 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jeremy Johnson! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jack Winter! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Roger Salmon and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice sprawl there from Winter as Johnson shoots in. Winter slaps away a takedown attempt from Johnson, before circling back to the center of the mat. Winter stuffs the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jeremy Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Winter connects with a right hand. Johnson shakes it off. Johnson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Winter. Johnson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Winter sprawls well. Winter wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet. Johnson looks for a takedown but Winter sprawls well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Winter looks to throw the jab but Johnson is out of range. Winter throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Johnson fails with the takedown. Winter throws a right and a left that both miss. Winter throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Johnson takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Johnson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Winter moves away. Winter throws a hook to the side of Johnson's head but Johnson sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Winter circles away. Johnson has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Winter finds it's way round the side to connect with Johnson's head. Johnson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Johnson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Winter circles away. Johnson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Winter.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Johnson dives in and grabs Winter's left leg, looking for a takedown. Winter pushes down on Johnson's head and hops out. Johnson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Winter is looking to regain half guard here but Johnson keeps moving and retains side control. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Winter can do anything to dispel that myth. Johnson working the head and body with strikes. You can see the frustration on Winter's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Johnson is looking to take a break and control but Winter is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Jack Winter will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Johnson drives through with a takedown into Winter's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Johnson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Johnson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Winter works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Johnson throws a big elbow that misses. Winter looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Winter really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Johnson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Johnson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Winter is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Winter is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Johnson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Winter can't keep his opponent in guard - Johnson advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Johnson looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Johnson not landing any meaningful shots this time. Winter trying to control from the bottom.
Winter on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Johnson thows a huge punch but Winter dodges it nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Winter is trying to get back to full guard. Johnson not landing any meaningful shots this time. Johnson trying to pass the guard but Winter defending well. Johnson not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Nice strikes from Johnson there. Johnson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Winter keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Johnson not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Johnson is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Johnson trying to control from half guard but Winter is working away. Johnson throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Johnson is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Winter! Johnson landing punches.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Winter is bucking up trying to escape but Johnson cracks him with another couple of good strikes. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Johnson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Johnson lands with some strikes. Johnson is in the full mount, landing strikes. Winter tries to get back to half guard but can't. Johnson looking to control and managing it successfully. Johnson putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Johnson has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Winter's face.

That's going to take a lot out of him. Winter misses with a looping left. Jack Winter is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

He shot from a bit too far out. Winter tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Johnson was well out of range. Poor timing from Winter. Johnson tries for a takedown but Winter sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Johnson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Winter swivels and escapes. Winter displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Johnson.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson gets a takedown into half guard. Johnson throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Winter trying to get back to full guard but Johnson takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Winter tries to hold on but Johnson postures up. Johnson throwing strikes here but Winter is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Johnson lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Winter tries to reverse the position but Johnson maintains control. Johnson unloading with bombs! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Winter is squirming around, avoiding Johnson's attempts to control the action. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Johnson cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Johnson scoring with strikes but Winter is staying in there. Jeremy Johnson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Johnson lands a heavy elbow. Johnson landing strikes, looking to finish!
Winter is rocked! Johnson trying to control but Winter is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jeremy Johnson clearly takes that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

That will dishearten Johnson somewhat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jeremy Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Winter stalks Johnson and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Johnson's face. Johnson staggers backwards, shaken.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Winter throws a pinpoint strike between Johnson's hands that connects right on the jaw and sends Johnson crashing to the floor! He's out before he even hits the mat and Winter scores a great knockout victory!
