Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jedd Knight!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Thomas Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Tarja Halkonen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knight throws a series of punches but Gracie moves out of range.

Gracie closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Gracie is trying to break the clinch but Knight has him pressed against the cage.
Knight connects with a nasty looking knee right to Gracie's face.

Knight jumps guard and drags Gracie to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gracie missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Gracie's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Knight looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Gracie passes into half guard.

Gracie stands up out of the half guard.

Gracie clinches with his opponent.
Knight jumps guard but Gracie turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Gracie jumps into guard, dragging Knight to the mat.

Knight trying to control but Gracie is working from the bottom.
Gracie controlling Knight's posture.
Gracie keeping moving, preventing Knight from controlling successfully.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Jedd Knight just wasn't active enough.
Gracie will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Gracie is looking to chop away at Knight's legs.
Gracie sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Knight tries to clinch there but Gracie circles away.
Gracie shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Knight pinned against the cage. Knight gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Gracie fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Jedd Knight has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thomas Gracie.
Gracie circles away from the clinch attempt.

Gracie gets a takedown into half guard.

Gracie stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Knight to get to his feet.
Gracie looks gassed!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Knight avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Knight throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Gracie on the side of the head.
Knight fails in his attempt to clinch.
Knight misses with a two punch combination.
Gracie takes one to the chin there.

Knight clinches.

Gracie breaks from the clinch.
Knight feints a jab promting Gracie to slip. Knight then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Gracie slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Knight displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gracie.
Gracie throws a head kick but Knight moves out of range.
Knight lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Gracie backs up against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Knight tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gracie swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Knight tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Gracie manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Knight tries to clinch up.
Knight tries to clinch there but Gracie circles away.
Gracie keeps the fight on the outside.
No joy there for Knight, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Jedd Knight is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The fight stays on the outside here - Knight looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Knight stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Knight wants it to stay on the feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Gracie keeps the fight on the outside.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jedd Knight will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Knight leaves Gracie with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Knight throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Knight feints a jab promting Gracie to slip. Knight then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Gracie slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Gracie lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Knight tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Knight moves in looking to clinch but Gracie pushes him off.

Gracie shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Gracie looking to control and managing it successfully.
Gracie is breathing heavily.
Gracie throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.

Knight is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gracie looking to control and managing it successfully.
Knight is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Gracie breaks from Knight's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Knight can't escape the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gracie controlling the position easily from mount.
Knight is trying desperately to improve position.
Gracie controlling from the full mount.
Gracie's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Gracie breaks from Knight's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Gracie lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Gracie controlling from the full mount.
Gracie cracks Knight with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Gracie has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Gracie looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

Gracie is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Knight is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Knight flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Gracie anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Knight and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Gracie slips an arm under Knight chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Gracie has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Gracie is squeezing on Knight like an anaconda would it's prey. Knight fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Thomas Gracie!
