The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Seu Braga and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oliveira shoots in and drives through. Vergara sprawls well.
Vergara's jab looks to have found its range, popping Oliveira under the eye.
Oliveira throws a right and a left that both miss.
Vergara scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
A head kick by Vergara misses
and Oliveira counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Oliveira.
Vergara's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Oliveira takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Oliveira rushes Vergara and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Vergara tries to land knees in the clinch but Oliveira avoids the damage to the body.
Vergara prevents a takedown attempt there.

Vergara is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Oliveira has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Vergara is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joabe Oliveira. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Oliveira is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Vergara to keep the fight standing.
Vergara wants to break free but Oliveira has control.
Vergara's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Oliveira takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Vergara throws a series of punches but Oliveira avoids them all with ease.
Vergara throws a head kick that misses.
Vergara fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Frederico Vergara is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Oliveira.
Vergara's jab looks to have found its range, popping Oliveira under the eye.
Vergara feints and then cracks Oliveira's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Oliveira down.
Oliveira shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Oliveira. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Vergara slaps away a takedown attempt from Oliveira, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Vergara throws a series of strikes that have Oliveira backpedaling.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Vergara throws out a powerful jab.
Frederico Vergara seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Oliveira throws the kick towards the body but Vergara avoids it.
Donk. Vergara catches Oliveira right on the button with a cross.
Oliveira walks into a straight right hand from Vergara.
Vergara throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Vergara scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Oliveira takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Oliveira scores with a takedown into Vergara's guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Vergara holds on and takes a little breather.

Vergara wants to hit a switch here but Oliveira passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Vergara there!
Oliveira tries to control but Vergara wriggling away.
Vergara has given up his back here.
Vergara won't enjoy being in this position. Oliveira looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Vergara is tapping - it's over boys! Oliveira picks up the submission victory!
