Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
31 - 14 - 3, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mark Marx! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fast Punch! The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Ryoma Takatsuka and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Punch scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Punch throws an off balance right hand
and Marx counters with a lovely shot to the body. Marx slips a jab from Punch. Punch misses with an uppercut. Marx saw that one coming. Punch jabbing away but nothing is landing. Marx throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Marx throws a solid leg kick but Punch takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Marx. Punch takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. A jab lands there for Marx. Marx avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Punch is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent. A slow jab from Marx misses its intended target. Mark Marx seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Marx throws a chopping leg kick but Punch manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Punch dives in and grabs Marx's left leg, looking for a takedown. Marx pushes down on Punch's head and hops out. Punch misses the shot to the body. Punch closes the distance and lands a one-two. Punch swats away the attempt to clinch by Marx. Punch misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Marx.
Marx looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Punch throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Punch cracks Marx with a right hand to the side of the head. Punch bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Punch drops Marx with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Marx looks back up at him and smiles so Punch waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Marx is rocked!
It looks like Mark Marx has been cut. This has been an exciting period of action! Punch shoots in for a takedown. Oh, that's a huge slam! Marx is on queer street and Punch is pounding down on him with a barage of strikes. The ref is forced to step in and stop the fight. Great finish!
