Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Pekka Pouta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tobias Makela (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tobias Makela has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tobias Makela!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Shimada and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pouta shoots in but Makela avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Pouta walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Makela swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Makela misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Makela lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Pouta at a distance.

Pouta will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Makela up against the ropes.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Pouta stands up and waves to Makela to follow him.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Makela stalks Pouta and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Pouta's face. Pouta staggers backwards, shaken.

Makela wants to get back to his feet but Pouta is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Makela preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Pouta stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Makela swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Pouta wants to control from the top but Makela keeps moving.

Makela throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Makela swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Oooh a lovely combination from Makela sends Pouta down but not out. Makela dives into side control looking to finish.

Makela stands up and beckons Pouta to his feet.
Makela looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Makela is looking to break free of the clinch but Pouta has double underhooks.
Pouta keeps control of Makela as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Makela wants to get back to striking at distance but Pouta won't allow it.

Pouta has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Makela clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Oooh a big shot gets through from Pouta. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!

Makela is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Pouta gets his way!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
