Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Patrick Alders and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez doesn't manage to clinch there - Cruz circles away.
Alvarez gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Alvarez working for a triangle but Cruz defends it easily.
Cruz trying to stand up but can't free himself from Alvarez's guard.
Alvarez is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Alvarez has a closed guard, preventing Cruz from standing up.
Cruz got a little sloppy there for a moment and Alvarez has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cruz has managed to get both his arms back between Alvarez's legs - danger averted.
Cruz throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Alvarez has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Cruz should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Alvarez has tightened it up now! Cruz should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
