The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Perkins fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Song, pushing him back against the cage.
Song is working for takedown but Perkins is calmly controlling the position for now.

Song perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Perkins is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Song's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Song's back!

Perkins is looking for a choke. Song gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Song manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.
Song trying to control the position from guard on top but Perkins is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Song passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Song is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Perkins looks calm but he's in trouble here. Song gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Perkins is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Song lets go of the hold and Perkins can pop his arm back in it's socket.
