The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spartak misses with a series of wild punches.
Spartak looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Spartak gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Alagic to score an easy takedown into full guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Alagic slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Spartak can do anything to dispel that myth.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mahmut Alagic wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Alagic.
Spartak shoots and misses
and Alagic counters with an inside leg kick.
Alagic cracks Spartak with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Alagic stuns Spartak with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Alagic lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

It looks like Leonid Spartak has been cut.
Leonid Spartak seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nice straight punches there by Alagic. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Alagic.
Alagic cracks Spartak with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Alagic drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Spartak is trying to control Alagic's posture but Alagic avoids it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Mahmut Alagic.

Alagic shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Spartak's guard.
Alagic wants to control from the top but Spartak keeps moving.
Alagic is really struggling to control Spartak but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Alagic stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Spartak swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Spartak controls Alagic momentarily but Alagic frees himself.

Alagic shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Spartak napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Alagic in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Spartak is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
