The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Quaid darts in and clinches Venturia up against the cage.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Venturia drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Quaid dives on top into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Venturia counters with a stiff right hand.

Venturia breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Venturia.
A looping hook to the body misses from Quaid. Venturia does a little dance to reset his feet.
Venturia swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Venturia pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Quaid has Venturia pressed against the cage, preventing Venturia from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Quaid is trying to drag Venturia to the mat but Venturia just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Quaid throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Venturia was covering up waiting for the punch and Quaid finishes the takedown easily into guard.
