Coming up we have a middleweight kickboxing rules bout between Rich Franklin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alistair Overeem (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Franklin comes into the arena with Nas- Ether blaring out of the sound system. Overeem has chosen Since the Flood- as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Rich Franklin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Alistair Overeem! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yuuki Gou and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Franklin wants to land a leg kick but Overeem is out of range. Overeem wants to clinch but Franklin slips to the side and Franklin counters with a lovely straight right hand! Franklin throws a body punch but Overeem moves out of range. Franklin takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
It looks like Rich Franklin has been cut. Franklin circles away from the clinch attempt and Franklin counters with a good low kick that Overeem was not able to check. Overeem jabbing away but nothing is landing. Overeem is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Overeem tries to clinch up and Franklin counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Franklin slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Overeem is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Franklin. That's one minute gone in the round. Overeem moves to clinch but Franklin breaks away and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Overeem closes the distance looking to clinch and Franklin counters with a one-two to the body. Franklin circles away from the clinch attempt and Franklin counters with a right, a left and a big uppercut that drops Overeem to the mat! Franklin runs to a neutral corner to get the count going quickly. 3,4,5,6 and Overeem is back to his feet. He seems ready to continue - the ref agrees so we're back at it! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Overeem tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Franklin counters with a big 3 punch combo that drops Overeem on his ass! Overeem wobbles back to his feet half way through the count and though looking a bit dazed, the referee is going to allow the fight to continue! Overeem darts in trying to clinch and Franklin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Overeem darts in trying to clinch and Franklin counters with a nice low kick that buckles Overeem's knee momentarily. Franklin is working the combinations to good effect here. Overeem throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Franklin circles away from the clinch attempt and before Overeem can reset, Franklin rushes him with a swarm of punches, sending him crashing to the floor, in all sorts of trouble! Overeem is trying to beat the count but we're up to 6 already and he's nowhere near. 7,8... he's up! He's going to continue! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Overeem tries to clinch but Franklin moves away and before Overeem can reset, Franklin rushes him with a swarm of punches, sending him crashing to the floor, in all sorts of trouble! Overeem is trying to beat the count but we're up to 6 already and he's nowhere near. 7,8... he's up! He's going to continue! Overeem has managed to clinch.

God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Franklin breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
