Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Joshua Shouse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Dodson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joshua Shouse ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Dodson! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Daniel Franklin and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shouse misses with a body shot
and Dodson counters with an inside leg kick. Shouse takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Shouse throws a right and a left that Dodson avoids nicely. Dodson tries to clinch but Shouse moves out of range. Dodson keeps Shouse at a distance using the push kick. Dodson tries a head kick but it misses.
Dodson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Shouse ! The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Dodson is standing up, even though he is in mount. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Shouse scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Dodson trying to control from the bottom.
Shouse working Dodson over with strikes. Shouse knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dodson on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Dodson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Shouse is looking to advance position but Dodson won't allow it. Shouse is controlling the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dodson slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Dodson is trying to keep Shouse in close.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dodson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Shouse is aware though and is defending well. Shouse landing some decent shots from guard. Shouse decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Dodson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Dodson fails with the takedown and Shouse counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Dodson! Dodson looks gassed! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Dodson is bucking up trying to escape but Shouse cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Shouse landing strikes from the mount and Dodson is in trouble!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shouse controlling the pace for now. Shouse 's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Shouse seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Dodson for as long as he can get away with. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Dodson can't escape the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shouse tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Shouse wants to take his opponent's back but Dodson doesn't allow it. Shouse controlling from mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dodson wants to hold on but Shouse pushes him away. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Shouse content just to control the position here. Shouse punishing his opponent with strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shouse tries to clinch but Dodson moves out of range. Shouse keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Shouse goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Excellent takedown into side control there by Shouse . Dodson struggling a bit here. Shouse tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Dodson is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shouse stands up and beckons Dodson to his feet. Dodson dives in and grabs Shouse 's left leg, looking for a takedown. Shouse pushes down on Dodson's head and hops out. Dodson gets caught napping as Shouse dives in and scores a takedown. Dodson manages to retain guard. Dodson wants to sweep here but Shouse controlling him for the moment. Dodson has an active guard here but Shouse has managed to pass into half guard.
Dodson is breathing heavily. Shouse not doing much here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shouse trying to mount his opponent but Dodson defends it. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Shouse is thwarting Dodson's attempts to control the position. Shouse stalling.

Joshua Shouse has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Dodson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Shouse closes the distance and clinches up with Dodson, looking for a takedown. Shouse pushes Dodson against the cage but Dodson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Dodson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Shouse paws at him with a jab and circles away. Dodson throws a left and a right that both miss
and Shouse counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Dodson's guard now. Dodson looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Shouse pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dodson is keeping the position for now. Shouse gets to his feet - Dodson follows without any prompting.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shouse closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. This has been an exciting period of action! Dodson manages to get back to half guard. Shouse slows the pace down in half guard. Shouse lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Shouse is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Dodson has managed to free his arm - good work. Shouse is controlling the pace.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joshua Shouse dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Dodson fails to land the takedown. Dodson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Shouse swivels and escapes. Dodson shoots in looking for a takedown but Shouse manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Dodson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Joshua Shouse has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Dodson. Dodson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Shouse keeps control of the position for the meantime. Shouse wants to improve his position but Dodson is controlling well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shouse on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Shouse tries to get out of the position. Dodson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Shouse is looking to escape. Shouse is looking for a sweep. Dodson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Dodson trying to control from half guard but Shouse is working away. Dodson is thwarting Shouse 's attempts to control the position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Dodson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Shouse sprawls well. Shouse wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dodson gets slowly back to his feet. Dodson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Shouse looking to pass the guard. Shouse won't allow Dodson to get back to his feet. Shouse passes Dodson's left leg - he's now in half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dodson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Shouse is nestled in close to Dodson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Shouse trying to control from half guard but Dodson is working away. Shouse drops an elbow to the side of Dodson's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dodson desperately trying to maintain half guard. Dodson looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Well, if Shouse is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
John Dodson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Joshua Shouse is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Shouse seems to be looking for submissions.
And that's the end of the fight! Joshua Shouse showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Shouse , winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
