Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Quinton Rampaasi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Rock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Quinton Rampaasi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tommy Rock! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rampaasi gets the takedown into side control. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Rock is trying to get back to half guard. Rampaasi is working Rock over with some ground and pound from side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rampaasi scoring with punches and elbows. Rock avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Rampaasi. Rampaasi misses with an attempted head punch from side control. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Rock takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Rock prevents Rampaasi from improving position. Rock takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Rock managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Rampaasi.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rampaasi in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. An elbow from Rampaasi crashes against the mat.
Rampaasi tries to advance to mount but can't. Rock is trying to buck Rampaasi off. Rock is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Rock throws Rampaasi to one side and escapes! Rampaasi misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. A slow jab from Rampaasi misses its intended target. Rock displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Rampaasi. Rampaasi shoots in and drives through. Rock sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Quinton Rampaasi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rampaasi. Rampaasi shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Rock sprawls well. Rock wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rampaasi gets slowly back to his feet. Nice sprawl there from Rock as Rampaasi shoots in. Rock is looking to take this fight into the clinch. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rock swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Rock throws a head kick but Rampaasi moves out of range.
Rampaasi shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Rock as he avoids it easily. Rampaasi shoots in but Rock avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rampaasi misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Rampaasi avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Rampaasi gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Rock counters with a leg kick. Rampaasi changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rock tries to avoid it but Rampaasi manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rock to the ground. Rock escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Rampaasi throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Rock doesn't manage to clinch there - Rampaasi circles away.

Rock throws a right and a left that Rampaasi avoids nicely. Rampaasi blocks a low kick nicely. Rampaasi shoots in but no luck this time. Rock slips a jab from Rampaasi. Rock scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Rampaasi is breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rock misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Rock moves in looking to clinch but Rampaasi pushes him off. Rampaasi shoots in for a takedown but Rock shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Rampaasi throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Rampaasi fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rock avoids it really well and circles away. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Rock scores with a spinning back kick! Rock looks for the body kick but Rampaasi saw that one coming. Rampaasi shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Rampaasi was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Rampaasi throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Rock suckers Rampaasi into throwing a sloppy strike and uses the momentum to reverse the position beautifully! Rock is now in Rampaasi's guard!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rock throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Rock throws a low kick, looking for Rampaasi's leg but Rampaasi calmly moves out of range. Rock wants to clinch and Rampaasi counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Rock! Rampaasi looking to finish with strikes here!

Rampaasi postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Rock looks a forlorn figure.

Rampaasi is landing with some decent strikes but Rock is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Rock sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Rampaasi is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Quinton Rampaasi overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Rampaasi slips a nice elbow through Rock's hands, connecting with Rock's forehead. Rock blocking the ground and pound attempt from Rampaasi. Rampaasi throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Rampaasi thows a huge punch but Rock dodges it nicely.
Rock looking for submissions from an awkward position here. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Rampaasi connects with a nice short shot to Rock's temple. Rock actively working from the bottom here. Rampaasi seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Rampaasi working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Rampaasi throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rock works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Rampaasi trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Rock throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Rock tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rampaasi swats him away and circles back towards the center. Rampaasi gets caught flat footed, as Rock shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Rock preventing the sweep. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rampaasi scores with a nice shot. Rock wants to pass the guard but Rampaasi is keeping the position. Rampaasi wants to sweep here but Rock controlling him for the moment. Rampaasi is working hard here to advance position. Rampaasi striking off his back but it's not causing Rock any problems. Rampaasi lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Rock! Rampaasi throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Rock because Rampaasi loaded up on that one.

This has been an exciting period of action! Rock takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Rampaasi lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Rock hang on? The referee warns Rock that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Rampaasi is landing with some decent strikes but Rock is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Rampaasi cracks Rock with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rampaasi has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Rock's face.
Rock is looking to improve his position but Rampaasi isn't that keen on the idea. Rampaasi raining down hammerfists from mount. Tommy Rock has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Rock is still in real trouble! Can Rampaasi finish him? Rampaasi postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Rock in real trouble here! The ref calls for Rock to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
