Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jp Flaim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julio Sobral (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jp Flaim has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jp Flaim!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Julio Sobral!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Alexandre Firmino and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sobral decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Sobral wants to pass to mount but Flaim is defending the position.
Flaim wants to improve his position but Sobral is controlling well.

Sobral looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Sobral wants to take a breather but Flaim is having none of it.

Sobral is looking to take a break and control but Flaim is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Julio Sobral has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Flaim shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sobral sprawls well. Sobral wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Flaim gets slowly back to his feet.
Flaim looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Flaim lands with a hook. Sobral tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sobral is defended easily by Flaim.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jp Flaim.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jp Flaim will probably get the nod.

Sobral bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Flaim will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
