The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hamzah fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Silva ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Hamzah displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Silva.
Silva takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Silva moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
A big left from Hamzah misses.

Silva shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hamzah as he jumps to the side.

Silva shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

and Hamzah counters with a stiff right hand.

Silva dives in and grabs Hamzah's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hamzah pushes down on Silva's head and hops out.
Hamzah wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Hamzah thows a body shot but no joy.

Hamzah is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Silva rather than just go for the knockout.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Silva. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Silva is fighting to break Hamzah's control of his arms but Hamzah is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Silva is looking to work some ground and pound but Hamzah has wrist control.

A looping hook to the body misses from Hamzah. Silva does a little dance to reset his feet.
Hamzah throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Silva stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
