PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Fitch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Bing (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Eric Bing was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, John Fitch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Eric Bing!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Paul Tew and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Bing.
Good leg kick by Bing there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Bing throws a nice inside leg kick.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Fitch.
Bing pushes Fitch away with a front kick.
Bing scores with a head kick. Fitch tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Bing misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Nice sprawl there from Bing as Fitch shoots in.
Fitch fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bing avoids it really well and circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Fitch. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bing lands with a slapping head kick.


It looks like John Fitch has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bing feints and then cracks Fitch's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Fitch down.
Fitch fails with the takedown
and Bing counters with a body kick that stops Fitch in his tracks momentarily.
Bing with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Fitch chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Bing can pounce on him.
Fitch will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Bing scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Bing lands a right hook to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bing looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Horrible takedown by Fitch or perhaps it was just good defense by Bing which made him look bad.
Both fighters circling a little - Bing finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Fitch is breathing heavily.
Bing stuffs the takedown.
Bing connects with a leg kick. Fitch looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Fitch is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Bing misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Bing lands with a nice body kick.
Fitch closes the distance and clinches up with Bing, looking for a takedown. Fitch pushes Bing against the cage but Bing circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Fitch. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Fitch takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Bing scoring well with a low kick there.
Bing with a hook.
Bing throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Fitch's head.
Eric Bing seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bing scores with a kick to the body.
Fitch misses with a takedown
and Bing makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bing tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Fitch manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fitch walks into a stiff left hand from Bing.
Bing feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Fitch's calf.
Bing connects with a leg kick. Fitch looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Bing throws a nice outside leg kick.
Bing thumps Fitch with a low kick.
Fitch shoots for a takedown but Bing saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
A solid leg kick lands there for Bing.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Bing scores with a kick to the body.
Fitch walks into a straight right hand from Bing.
Bing scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eric Bing dominated that round.
The cut man is working on John Fitch's cut.
That's time! Back to the action!


Bing thuds his shin into the meat of Fitch's side.
Bing cracks the inside of Fitch's front leg.
Fitch avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Bing, right into the meat.
Bing thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Fitch if he has to take too many more of those.
Bing thumps Fitch with a low kick.
Fitch will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.
Fitch has a takedown stuffed.
A slapping leg kick lands for Bing.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bing looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Fitch looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Bing throws a head kick that Fitch semi-blocks.
Bing throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Fitch's head.
Bing has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Bing closes the distance and clinches.
Bing is pushing Fitch up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Fitch takes a shot to the head.
Fitch has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Bing after a bit of a struggle.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Fitch. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bing keeps control of Fitch as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bing lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Fitch or not.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Bing connects with a knee to the head.


Fitch is rocked!


John Fitch's cut is getting worse.
Bing lands an elbow that stopped Fitch in his tracks for a moment.
Oh Fitch is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Bing dips a shoulder and cracks Fitch with a mighty uppercut! Fitch falls back against the cage and Bing unloads with a barrage of strikes! Fitch is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Bing screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Eric Bing!
