Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Chris Rafferty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Harrison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James Harrison looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Chris Rafferty!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, James Harrison!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Andrew Berry and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rafferty gets a clinch.
Harrison looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Rafferty scores a nice knee to the body.

Rafferty manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Rafferty is trying to keep Harrison in close.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Rafferty holds on and takes a little breather.
Rafferty wants to sweep here but Harrison controlling him for the moment.

Rafferty pushes Harrison off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Rafferty will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Rafferty looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

and Rafferty counters by moving into the clinch.
Rafferty is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Harrison gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Rafferty fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Harrison sprawls well initially but Rafferty persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Rafferty has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Harrison avoids a series of strikes thrown by Rafferty.

Harrison is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Harrison is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Harrison is wriggling around trying to escape.

Rafferty's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Rafferty has hold of Harrison's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Harrison manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Rafferty really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Rafferty is standing up, even though he is in mount.
Rafferty tries for a takedown but Harrison sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Harrison misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Nice sprawl there from Harrison as Rafferty shoots in.
Rafferty has a takedown stuffed.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


A head kick misses from Rafferty.
James Harrison seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rafferty is defended easily by Harrison.
Harrison throws an off balance right hand
and Rafferty counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Rafferty shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Harrison as he jumps to the side.
Harrison swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Harrison.
Rafferty shoots in for a double leg but Harrison sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Harrison shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Rafferty as he avoids it easily.

Rafferty darts in and clinches Harrison up against the cage.
A head punch on the inside from Harrison fails to land.
Rafferty with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Harrison is trying to maintain a safe position but Rafferty gets an underhook and turns Harrison into the cage.

Rafferty ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Rafferty no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Rafferty has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Harrison can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Harrison stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rafferty swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Rafferty wants to improve his position but Harrison is controlling well.
Harrison wants to take a breather but Rafferty is having none of it.
Harrison is pressing down on Rafferty's thigh, looking to free his foot. Rafferty is holding on for now.

Harrison is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Harrison trying to control the action but Rafferty is working from the bottom.

Harrison seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Rafferty is looking to improve his position.
Rafferty is looking to control Harrison's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Rafferty avoid being mounted?
Harrison passes the guard and advances to mount!
Rafferty tries to reverse the position but Harrison maintains control.

Rafferty wants to control his opponent's hands but Harrison gets his hands free.

Harrison is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Rafferty is defending well though. Harrison let's go of the attempt for now.

James Harrison showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

A head kick misses from Rafferty.
Rafferty dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Harrison. That did some damage!
Rafferty fails to land the takedown.
Rafferty lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Rafferty.
Rafferty keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Rafferty throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Harrison stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Rafferty shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Harrison sprawls well. Harrison wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rafferty gets slowly back to his feet.

Harrison tries to clinch up but Rafferty circles away and keeps his distance.

Rafferty fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Harrison tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Rafferty manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Rafferty throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Harrison tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rafferty swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Rafferty misses with a takedown attempt - Harrison sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Harrison connects with an inside leg kick.
Rafferty fails to land with a series of punches.
Harrison is looking to clinch.
Rafferty scores with a head kick. Harrison tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Harrison has taken the fight to the clinch.
Harrison tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Rafferty smiles and moves away.

Rafferty rushes Harrison and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Harrison prevents a takedown attempt there.
Harrison fails to pull guard.

Rafferty's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Harrison is looking to clinch.

Rafferty closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Harrison wants to break the clinch but can't.

Rafferty escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Harrison fails with a takedown attempt.
Rafferty shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Harrison pinned against the cage. Harrison gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Harrison dives in and grabs Rafferty's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rafferty pushes down on Harrison's head and hops out.

Rafferty throws a head kick that misses.
Harrison throws a nice looking combination but Rafferty bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Rafferty clinches up against the cage.
Rafferty is looking to take this one to the mat.

Rafferty manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Harrison is looking to stand up but Rafferty won't let him.

Harrison decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Nice takedown defense from Harrison. No joy for Rafferty on that attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
No luck for Rafferty with that takedown attempt.

Rafferty forces Harrison back against the cage and clinches.

Well Rafferty has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
