PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vash Struker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Conor McCallum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vash Struker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Conor McCallum!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCallum checks a leg kick.
McCallum throws a low kick but it's checked well by Struker.
Struker avoids the head kick by McCallum.

McCallum gets a clinch.
McCallum keeps control of Struker as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

McCallum manages to break the clinch.
Struker misses with a few strikes there.
McCallum lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Struker at a distance.
Nice uppercut there from Struker.

McCallum changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Struker looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
McCallum advances nicely into full mount.

McCallum is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Struker to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Struker shrugs it off.
McCallum takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Struker on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Struker tries to get out of the position.

Struker wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by McCallum.

McCallum throws some wild stikes that Struker manages to avoid easily.

McCallum goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Struker is on top in guard.

McCallum scrambles and gets back to his feet.
McCallum pulls out of a head kick attempt.
McCallum throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

McCallum slips a jab from Struker.
McCallum misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Struker misses with a lunging right hand
and McCallum counters with a nice body shot.
Struker fakes high and swings low for a body shot but McCallum manages to avoid it.
McCallum throws a sloppy head kick and Struker moves out of range easily.

Struker connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Struker misses with a low kick.
Struker dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on McCallum. That did some damage!

McCallum clinches.

McCallum breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Struker lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from McCallum.
McCallum avoids the head kick by Struker.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and McCallum holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
McCallum is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Struker is defending well for now.
McCallum using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Struker has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Struker blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
McCallum drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Vash Struker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Conor McCallum.

McCallum connects with a nice looking jab.
Vash Struker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

McCallum closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Struker's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McCallum wants to pass the guard but Struker is keeping the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McCallum is pushing down on Struker's leg trying to pass to half guard. Struker is fighting to maintain full guard but McCallum has managed to sneak the leg through.
McCallum thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

McCallum is working for a kimura but Struker is defending it quite comfortably.

Struker is staying active underneath McCallum, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

McCallum is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Struker defends it well.

McCallum works his way into side control.
McCallum wants to lay and pray for a moment but Struker keeps working.

McCallum creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Struker sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

McCallum has an Americana. Struker didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! McCallum is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if McCallum hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Conor McCallum!
A very excited looking Conor McCallum made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
