Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mamed Khalidov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pipoy Palay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mamed Khalidov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Pipoy Palay! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Eliza Hachem and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Palay feints and as Khalidov raises his hands in defense, Palay changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Khalidov is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Palay is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Khalidov controls Palay momentarily but Palay frees himself. Khalidov keeping moving, preventing Palay from controlling successfully.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Pipoy Palay. Khalidov with a lazy takedown attempt and Palay counters with a takedown into side control. Palay remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. You can see the frustration on Khalidov's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Palay slows the pace down. Khalidov is looking to reverse the position. Palay looks gassed! Khalidov pushes Palay away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Palay gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Palay is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Khalidov's shoulder. That is not cool. Khalidov is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Palay is controlling him well. Palay taking a breather here.
Pipoy Palay has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Khalidov misses with a takedown attempt and Palay counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Khalidov is holding on to half guard well. Khalidov has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Palay is working away from the top position though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Mamed Khalidov. Khalidov tries for a takedown but Palay circles away easily and Palay moves into the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mamed Khalidov. That's going to take a lot out of him. Khalidov jumps into guard, dragging Palay to the mat.
Palay stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Khalidov swivels though and keeps the full guard. Khalidov is trying to control the position but Palay postures up.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Khalidov is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Khalidov is looking to stand up but Palay isn't so interested in that idea. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Khalidov is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Palay is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Palay is breathing heavily.

Palay pushes down on Khalidov's head and hops out. Khalidov fails to land the takedown. Khalidov with a poor takedown and Palay counters with a shoot takedown. Khalidov fights it but they end up in guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Khalidov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Palay seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pipoy Palay showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
