Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Alex Michaels! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Luis Chalas! The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Colin Fray and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Michaels closes the distance and clinches. Chalas tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Chalas jumps guard but Michaels turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. A bit of stalling here from Michaels.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Michaels tries to land a sweep but no joy. Chalas drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Chalas jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Michaels holds on and takes a little breather. Chalas is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Chalas postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Michaels is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Chalas, into his guard. Michaels is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Michaels trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Michaels is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Chalas looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Michaels wants to pass the guard but Chalas is keeping the position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Chalas is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Michaels is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Chalas is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Michaels has escaped the position, nice work there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Luis Chalas will probably get the nod. That's time! Michaels's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Michaels throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Chalas's waist but Chalas gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Michaels off to one side. Michaels throws a nice looking combination but Chalas bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Chalas fails with a takedown attempt from distance. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Michaels closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Michaels goes for a takedown attempt but Chalas pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Chalas prevents Michaels from improving his position. Michaels is defending against the submission attempts here by Chalas.

Michaels misses with a takedown attempt and Chalas counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Michaels! Chalas has hold of Michaels's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Michaels manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Chalas moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Michaels has worked his arm free - good work by Michaels!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Chalas advances to mount.

A big mistake from Chalas there, giving up the dominant position! Chalas is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Michaels defends well. Chalas is looking for a triangle but Michaels pushes his legs off easily.

Luis Chalas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Michaels is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Chalas. Oh, Michaels has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! Chalas is looking to reverse the position. Luis Chalas has got the better of the ground game so far.

Chalas controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Chalas is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Michaels off and has taken his back! Alex Michaels has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Chalas tightening his grip on Michaels, looking for the choke.
And that's the end of the fight! Luis Chalas comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Chalas winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
