Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mathew Drens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paolo Nelmsos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Drens is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. Mathew Drens has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mathew Drens! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paolo Nelmsos! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nelmsos is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Drens's half guard. Drens is breathing heavily. Nelmsos looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Drens avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Nelmsos. Nelmsos is trying to control the action in half guard but Drens is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Still in half guard, Nelmsos seems content to control. Nelmsos thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Nelmsos is pressing down on Drens's thigh, looking to free his foot. Drens is holding on for now. Nelmsos stalling.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Paolo Nelmsos. Nelmsos moves into range and clinches up with Drens.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nelmsos pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Nelmsos gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Nelmsos controlling the pace. Nelmsos seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Drens does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Nelmsos slips a nice elbow through Drens's hands, connecting with Drens's forehead. Nelmsos lands strikes from half guard. Nelmsos really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Drens. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nelmsos tries to pass to full mount but Drens defends it. Nelmsos drops an elbow to the side of Drens's head. Nelmsos wants to take a breather but Drens is having none of it. Nelmsos looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Nelmsos trying to pass the guard but Drens defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nelmsos is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Drens is just riding it out for now. Nelmsos eventually gives up the hold. Nelmsos is working for a submission of some sort.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Nelmsos wants to stand up but Drens is controlling the position.
Drens is trying to get back to full guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Ground and pound from Nelmsos. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nelmsos decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Drens is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Nelmsos performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Drens is refusing to be controlled, as Nelmsos sits in half guard. Nelmsos is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Nelmsos is trying to control. Drens wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Paolo Nelmsos wasn't active enough on the ground. Nelmsos throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Drens was covering up waiting for the punch and Nelmsos finishes the takedown easily into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nelmsos is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Nelmsos stands up from guard. Let's bang! Nelmsos lands a jab-cross combination. Nelmsos misses with a wild combination.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Mathew Drens. Nelmsos shoots in and bounces Drens off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Paolo Nelmsos has got the better of the ground game so far.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Nelmsos stands up over Drens, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Paolo Nelmsos showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Drens's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Nelmsos has Drens pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Nelmsos pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Drens tumbling to the mat - Nelmsos dives into Drens's guard. Drens wants to sweep but no luck. Nelmsos working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Drens is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Nelmsos is aware though and is defending well. Nelmsos lands a couple of digs. Nelmsos stopping the sweep attempt from Drens. Drens bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Nelmsos's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Drens throwing strikes from guard but Nelmsos blocks nicely. Nelmsos has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Nelmsos is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Nelmsos wants to stand and escape but Drens is having none of it. Nelmsos has control of Drens's left arm, preventing Drens from doing any damage. Drens stopping the sweep attempt from Nelmsos.

Nelmsos wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Nelmsos wriggles free and stands up.
And that's the end of the fight! Paolo Nelmsos comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Nelmsos has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
