Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Woods (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pete Damato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Woods! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pete Damato! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Chad Campbell and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A jab from Woods does it's job there. Woods scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Woods tries to work over Damato's front leg with a kick but Damato checks it. Woods looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Damato is fending him off so far but Woods persists. Nope, Damato circles away and we're back to standing. Woods lands with a good body shot. Damato throws a wild body kick that Woods sees coming a mile off. Woods thows a body shot but no joy. Damato misses with a body kick. Damato wants to clinch but Woods slips to the side and Woods connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Damato pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Woods misses with a wild body shot. Woods keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Damato. The fighters circle momentarily. Woods darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Woods lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Damato misses with a body kick. Woods throws a sloppy body shot
and Damato counters with a straight right hand. Woods shoots in looking for a takedown. Damato tries to sprawl out of it but Woods keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Damato manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Damato avoids a punch combination nicely.
Woods misses with a shot to the body and Damato counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Woods throws a series of punches but Damato avoids them all with ease. Damato uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Woods. Woods misses with a combination
and Woods takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Damato checks the leg kick. Damato misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Damato swings for the body but Woods moves out of range.
Damato throws a front kick aimed at Woods's knee but Woods avoids it well. Woods shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Damato is trying to defend but Woods finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Woods trying to control the action but Damato is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Woods with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Woods is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Woods in particular looking to stall. Damato wants to get back to full guard. Woods trying to control the action but Damato is working from the bottom. Woods trying to pass the guard but Damato defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Damato blocking the ground and pound attempt from Woods. Woods prevents Damato from improving his position. Woods thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Woods controlling the pace. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Damato is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Woods's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Woods's back! Damato doesn't have the hooks in and Woods manages to turn into his guard.
Damato not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Damato wants to control but Woods passes easily into half guard.
Woods content to control rather than advance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Woods scoring with strikes to the body and head. Woods perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Woods wants to control but Damato is keeping him busy. Woods passes the guard and advances to mount! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Woods scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Damato?
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Damato is desperately trying to improve his position but Woods has a good base and remains in mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Woods dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Damato misses with a hook. Woods ducked under it nicely. A jab-cross combination lands for Woods and sends Damato crashing to the mat! Woods follows him down to the mat - Damato regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Woods is looking to advance position but Damato won't allow it. Damato is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Woods scores with a couple of nice shots.
Damato is rocked! Ground and pound from Woods. Damato is still in real trouble! Can Woods finish him? Woods lands a big elbow - Damato is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Woods!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). James Woods! Our winner, James Woods, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
