Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Toshiro Montero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Write (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Montero comes to the cage accompanied by Danzig - Mother . Write comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Dark Knight metal theme kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Toshiro Montero! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tim Write! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shigeki Sano and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A low kick from Write misses and Montero counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Montero uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Write.
Write throws a body punch but Montero moves out of range. Montero clinches up against the cage. A short right hand to the side of the head by Montero. Montero throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Writes head. Write's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Montero ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Montero no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Write drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Montero dives on top into guard. Montero with a flurry of punches that miss. Montero passes easily into side control. Nice work. Write is looking to regain half guard here but Montero keeps moving and retains side control. Write is not content to let Montero control the position. This has been an exciting period of action! Montero is putting a hurting on Write here, landing some big shots from side control.

He has the arm isolated but Write is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Write is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Montero connects with a nice short shot to Write's temple. Montero wants to control but Write is keeping him busy. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Montero lands a nice short elbow. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Montero is looking to stall here but Write recovers full guard. Montero makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Montero throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Write works some decent striking defense from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Montero in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Montero trying to control the position but Write is working away. Montero scoring with punches from side control. Montero working the head with strikes. Write tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Montero wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Wooooo!
