Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Moa Soto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takeya Akazumi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Moa Soto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Takeya Akazumi!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Ren Mimura and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soto throws a leg kick but Akazumi sees it coming and moves out of range.
Soto walks into a jab.
Akazumi looks for a takedown but Soto sprawls well.
Akazumi shoots in for a takedown but Soto shows good takedown defense.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Akazumi is defended easily by Soto.
Moa Soto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Takeya Akazumi.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Akazumi.
Akazumi checks a leg kick nicely.
Akazumi circles away from the clinch attempt.
Akazumi blocks a head kick by Soto.

It looks like Takeya Akazumi has been cut.

Akazumi closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Soto's guard.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Soto is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Akazumi is aware though and is defending well.
Akazumi lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Akazumi wants to pass the guard but Soto is keeping the position.
Soto avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Akazumi wants to control from the top but Soto keeps moving.

We're going to have a standup here because Moa Soto wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Soto wants to slow Akazumi down by chopping away at his legs.

Akazumi fails with a takedown attempt.
Soto throws a head kick but Akazumi moves out of range.
Akazumi slips a jab and a cross from Soto.
Takeya Akazumi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Akazumi shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Soto but Soto pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Soto wants to control but Akazumi postures up.
Soto knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Akazumi on the ground.

Soto tries to buck Akazumi off but Akazumi is having none of it.
Akazumi is putting a hurting on Soto here, landing some big shots from side control.
Akazumi has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Soto tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Soto can't do much from the bottom here.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Akazumi sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Soto is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Akazumi is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Soto has escaped the position, nice work there.

Akazumi is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Soto knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Takeya Akazumi will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Akazumi shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Soto sprawls well. Soto wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Akazumi gets slowly back to his feet.
A good leg kick by Soto.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A slow jab from Soto misses its intended target.
Akazumi jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Akazumi drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Soto manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Akazumi is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Soto is just riding it out for now. Akazumi eventually gives up the hold.
Soto looks like he's trying to stand up.

Akazumi wants to take a breather but Soto is having none of it.

Akazumi wants to pass to mount but Soto is defending the position.
Akazumi is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Akazumi is keen to just control but Soto is a slippery customer.

Soto is trying to maintain the position but Akazumi is very close to passing his half guard.
Akazumi is stalling here. Soto is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Akazumi seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Soto has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Soto is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Soto decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Akazumi shoots in but Soto avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Jab, jab by Akazumi - just one landing.
A head kick misses from Soto.

Soto has Akazumi up against the cage in a clinch.
Soto tries a knee to the head but Akazumi blocks it.
Akazumi has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Soto avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Moa Soto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Takeya Akazumi.

Soto looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Soto lands a nice knee to the body.
Akazumi on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
The referee is keeping an eye on Soto - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Soto tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Soto lands a good knee to the midsection. Akazumi won't want to take too many of those.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Moa Soto will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Akazumi changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Soto tries to avoid it but Akazumi manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Soto to the ground. Soto escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Soto leaves Akazumi with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Soto lands with a kick to the ribs.
Akazumi fails with a takedown attempt.
Moa Soto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Takeya Akazumi.
Akazumi tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Soto swivels and escapes.
Akazumi throws the kick towards the body but Soto avoids it.
Soto tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Akazumi fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Akazumi takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Soto tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Akazumi paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Soto misses with a head kick.
Soto keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Soto stuffs the takedown.
A combination from Soto does no damage.
Akazumi shoots in and drives through. Soto sprawls well.
Akazumi tries for a takedown but Soto sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Soto leaves Akazumi with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Soto throws a jab when Akazumi was well out of range.
A head kick misses from Soto.
Soto fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Akazumi looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Akazumi shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Soto as he avoids it easily.
Soto plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Akazumi shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Moa Soto is winning the standup battle so far.
Soto tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Akazumi paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Soto pulls out of a head kick attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Akazumi.

Akazumi tries to keep at a distance but Soto has taken the fight into the clinch.
Soto unloads a knee to the mid-section. Akazumi lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

A nice glancing elbow lands by Soto.
Soto creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Akazumi's defenses.
Akazumi takes an elbow to the forehead.

Nice elbow from Soto.
Akazumi has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Soto is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Soto comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Akazumi takes an elbow to the temple.
Soto using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Akazumi has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Soto looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Akazumi avoids a wild elbow strike from Soto.
Akazumi tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

And that's the end of the fight!
Moa Soto showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Soto has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
