Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mad Dog! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Liam Selnes! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Selnes is looking to clinch. Selnes throws a sloppy head kick and Dog moves out of range easily. Selnes stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Selnes wants it to stay on the feet. Selnes tries a head kick but it misses.
Dog fails with the takedown. Dog looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mad Dog. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dog connects with a good right hand that stumbles Selnes. Selnes circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Selnes throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Liam Selnes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dog shoots in and drives through. Selnes sprawls well. Dog shoots in and gets a takedown into Selnes's guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Dog controlling from the top position.

They are putting on a show! Dog looks for a takedown but Selnes sprawls well. Dog tries for a takedown but Selnes sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Dog fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Selnes sprawls well initially but Dog persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Selnes is looking to escape. Dog is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

It looks like Mad Dog has been cut. Selnes lands a nice leg kick that just misses Dog's sensitive parts. A head kick by Selnes misses and Dog counters with a stiff right hand. Selnes throws a sloppy head kick and Dog moves out of range easily. Dog throws a head kick that misses. Dog chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Selnes can pounce on him.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Dog controls from within his opponent's guard. Selnes is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Dog decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Selnes, up you get! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mad Dog dominated that round. The cut man is working on Mad Dog's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Dog closes this distance looking for a takedown but Selnes circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mad Dog. That's going to take a lot out of him. Selnes throws a lazy head kick and Dog counters with a head kick. That will keep Selnes thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Selnes tries to land a front kick but Dog steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Some wild striking there from Selnes.

It looks like Liam Selnes has been cut. Nice takedown defense from Selnes. No joy for Dog on that attempt. Dog shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Selnes as he jumps to the side. A head kick from Selnes lands but Dog takes it in his stride. Mad Dog is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Selnes misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. No luck with that takedown attempt from Dog. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Dog closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Selnes did well to prevent Dog getting side control. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Selnes looks like he's trying to stand up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dog content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Dog sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Selnes defending well though. Dog looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mad Dog dominated that second round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

That's one minute gone in the round. Dog tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Dog fails to take his opponent's back. Dog won't let Selnes get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Dog takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Selnes is lucky that one didn't land flush. Dog takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Selnes connects with a leg kick. Dog looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Selnes's head. Dog looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Mad Dog is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
And that's the end of the fight! Mad Dog showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dog, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
