Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Alex Vargas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Puska (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vargas kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Strong Will Continue -- Damian Marley. Puska is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by You Ain't Stoppin Me !!!! . Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Alex Vargas!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Mike Puska!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, William Gold and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vargas looks for the body kick but Puska saw that one coming.
Vargas throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Vargas connects with a solid leg kick.
Nice defenses there by Puska.
Puska throws a right hand that misses
and Vargas counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.


It looks like Mike Puska has been cut.
A big left from Vargas misses.
Puska misses with a looping right.
Puska scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Vargas scores with a leg kick.
Puska thows a body shot but no joy.
Puska throws a body kick that misses.
Puska clobbers Vargas with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Puska throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Vargas stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Puska bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Vargas wants to get back to his feet but Puska drags him back down.

Puska is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Vargas is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Puska is looking to take a break and control but Vargas is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Puska is trying to get an arm triangle but Vargas is defending well.

Puska working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Puska tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Puska has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
