Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Felipe Paraventi and Daniel Cesar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson fails to land the takedown.
Thompson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Thompson checks the leg kick.
Thompson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Tethanon's waist but Tethanon gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Thompson off to one side.
Pavel Tethanon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stephen Thompson.
Tethanon tries to close the distance and clinch but Thompson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
An inside leg kick from Thompson misses.
Thompson moves out of range of the leg kick from Tethanon.
Tethanon slips a jab and a cross from Thompson.
Thompson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Thompson goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Tethanon tries to close the distance and clinch but Thompson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Nice takedown defense from Tethanon. No joy for Thompson on that attempt.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Tethanon with a knee to the head.

It looks like Stephen Thompson has been cut.
Tethanon lands a good knee to the midsection. Thompson won't want to take too many of those.
Thompson looks gassed!
Thompson misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Tethanon drops Thompson with a big knee straight up the middle! Thompson is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!

Thompson is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Tethanon closes the distance and clinches.
Thompson is still on wobbly legs! Can Tethanon finish him?

Tethanon scores a nice knee to the body.
Tethanon jerks Thompson's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Thompson drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Tethanon goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Tethanon because Thompson was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.
