Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Paul Gruel and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gobay leaves Merlino with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Merlino with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Gobay to score with a decent uppercut.
It looks like Vittorino Merlino has been cut.
Florent Gobay seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Merlino drives through with a takedown into guard.
Merlino tries to free his leg and advance position but Gobay is retaining full guard.
Merlino postures up in Gobay's guard and throws a big left but Gobay blocks it.
Gobay is trying to control the position but Merlino postures up.
Merlino loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Gobay controls Merlino momentarily but Merlino frees himself.
Gobay escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Merlino gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Merlino has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Merlino postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Gobay is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Merlino, into his guard.
Merlino looking for a triangle here. Gobay is fighting it but it looks tight! Merlino pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Gobay is tapping out - this one is all over!
