Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Wain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shogun BDown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wain's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Bring the Noise. John Wain has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wain fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging BDown to the ground. Wain is now in BDown's guard.

Wain gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Wain rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and BDown counters with a nice leg kick.
Wain fails with a takedown attempt.
Wain shoots for a takedown but BDown saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Wain misses with a jab to the body
and BDown counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

BDown has managed to clinch.
BDown taking a breather.
BDown tries a body shot but Wain blocks it.

Wain has BDown pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. BDown manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

BDown using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Wain has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Wain is trying to work for a single leg takedown but BDown pulls him back up using the underhooks.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Shogun BDown dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

A nice leg kick lands there from BDown.
BDown dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Wain. That did some damage!
BDown throws a quick inside leg kick.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
BDown throws a wild body kick that Wain sees coming a mile off.
No luck for Wain with that takedown attempt.

BDown closes the distance and clinches.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Wain is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

It looks like John Wain has been cut.

BDown's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Wain is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
BDown lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

BDown lands a nice looking kick to the body. Wain takes a step back to recover.
Shogun BDown seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
BDown scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Wain gets tackled into the cage by BDown. BDown maintains the clinch.
BDown wants to stall.
Wain jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as BDown walks away with a smile on his face. Wain gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Wain on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by BDown. BDown obviously looking to wear him down.

BDown gets a clinch.
A short body shot lands from BDown as the two fighters clinch.
Wain blocks the elbow strike.
A short right hand to the side of the head by BDown.
Nice body punch from BDown - that landed with a thud.
Wain's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
BDown lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Wain backwards.

Wain is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
BDown jerks Wain's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Wain drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! BDown goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from BDown because Wain was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.
