Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Paul Bruens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harry Callahan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bruens comes to the cage accompanied by River Below. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

24 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paul Bruens! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Harry Callahan! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, John Roberts and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bruens keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Callahan rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Bruens counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Callahan dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Callahan uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Bruens. A slapping leg kick lands for Callahan.
Bruens stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Callahan. Bruens on the wrong end of a nice hook. Callahan throws a leg kick and Bruens counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Callahan thuds his right hand into Bruens's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Callahan misses with a low kick.
Callahan will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Decent striking displayed by Callahan there. Bruens tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Callahan was well out of range. Poor timing from Bruens. Bruens with a hook. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A looping hook to the body misses from Callahan. Bruens does a little dance to reset his feet. Bruens checks a low kick from Callahan.
That's one minute gone in the round. Good leg kick by Callahan there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Callahan throws a leg kick that is checked and Bruens cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Callahan, right into the meat.
A punch lands to the side of Bruens 's head but he takes it in his stride. Bruens jabs Callahan to the body, keeping him at a distance. Callahan throws a combination that misses and Bruens counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Callahan throws a front kick aimed at Bruens's knee but Bruens avoids it well. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Callahan.
Callahan throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Bruens sees it coming and avoids it easily. Callahan takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Callahan pivots, looking for a leg kick but Bruens is out of range and Callahan settles back down. Callahan tries to score with a low kick but Bruens moves his leg out of the way. Bruens lands a jab to the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bruens throws a solid leg kick but Callahan takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Bruens.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Callahan avoids the head kick by Bruens.
Callahan fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Good exchange - Callahan coming out on top. Bruens throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. A low kick from Callahan is predictable there and Bruens connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. That kick from Bruens tenderised Callahan's leg. Callahan is trying to keep his angry face on. Callahan has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Bruens misses with a low kick. Bruens takes a swing at Callahan's ribcage but misses. Bruens ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Callahan moves away. Bruens looking to score a takedown here. Callahan is defending well but Bruens drives through and ends up in Callahan's guard. Bruens stopping the sweep attempt from Callahan. Callahan lands some strikes from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Callahan has his foot on Bruens's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bruens works his way back into a safe position though. Bruens is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bruens accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Bruens has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Bruens trying to control but Callahan is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bruens working some strikes from top position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bruens trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Bruens is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Bruens tries to free his leg and advance position but Callahan is retaining full guard. Bruens won't allow Callahan to get back to his feet.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Paul Bruens. Callahan rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Bruens counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Callahan keeping moving, preventing Bruens from controlling successfully. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Callahan swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Callahan shoots in but Bruens avoids the takedown attempt easily. Bruens feints and then cracks Callahan's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Callahan down. Callahan throws a lazy uppercut
and Bruens finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Callahan doesn't succeed with the takedown and Bruens counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Bruens working the head and body with strikes. Callahan wants to get back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bruens not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Bruens throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bruens wants to take a breather but Callahan is having none of it. Callahan on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Bruens is keen to just control but Callahan is a slippery customer. Bruens moves into side control, avoiding the strikes from Callahan.
Bruens wants to lay and pray for a moment but Callahan keeps working. Callahan can't do much from the bottom here. Paul Bruens overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Bruens lands a few punches from side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bruens grinds an elbow into Callahan's temple. Bruens in side control lands a decent elbow. Bruens throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Callahan is not content to let Bruens control the position. Callahan is trying to get back to his feet. Callahan sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Bruens lands a nice short elbow. Bruens passes to full mount! The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Bruens cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bruens tries to control but Callahan wriggling away. Callahan wants to get back to his feet.
Callahan in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Bruens controlling the position easily from mount. Callahan bucks Bruens off and manages to get back to his feet!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bruens ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. That kick from Bruens tenderised Callahan's leg. Callahan slips a jab from Bruens. Callahan is looking to chop away at Bruens's legs. Bruens tries to land a leg kick but Callahan saw it coming and moves away.
Callahan throws a front kick aimed at Bruens's knee but Bruens avoids it well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Callahan has a hand on Bruens's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Bruens takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Bruens lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Bruens looking to control but Callahan is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
