Vader comes to the cage accompanied by Kanye West & Jay-Z- Never let me down. Benedict Vader has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Benedict Vader!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Shields!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Daniel Franklin and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shields showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Vader.
Vader connects with a good right hand that stumbles Shields. Shields circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Vader wants to clinch.
Vader throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Shields on the side of the head.
Vader swats away the attempt to clinch by Shields.

Shields is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Vader's half guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Vader blocking the ground and pound attempt from Shields.
Vader wants to get back to his feet.
Vader wants to improve his position but Shields is controlling well.
Shields has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Shields works his way into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Shields controlling from side mount.
Vader tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Shields wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Vader defending against the ground and pound.

Shields working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Shields thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Shields controlling the position.

Vader prevents Shields from improving position.
Shields is looking to take a break and control but Vader is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Vader gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Vader is squirming around, avoiding Shields's attempts to control the action.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Shields throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Vader because Shields loaded up on that one.
Vader is trying to get back to his feet but can't.

Shields has isolated one of Vader's arms. Vader looking to fight him off but Shields twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
