Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Hunt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tank Abott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mark Hunt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tank Abott!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A good leg kick by Abott.
Hunt tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Abott swivels and escapes.
Abott tries a head kick but it misses.
Hunt misses with a takedown attempt - Abott sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Hunt keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Abott changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hunt tries to avoid it but Abott manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hunt to the ground. Hunt escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Abott instigates a clinch.
Abott tries to pull guard but Hunt holds him up against the cage and eventually Abott drops back down to his feet.
Abott working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Abott is looking for a takedown.
Mark Hunt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tank Abott.
Hunt changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Abott fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Hunt loads up on a big right hand but Abott slips the punch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Hunt.
Hunt stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hunt wants it to stay on the feet.
Hunt goes for a high kick. It partially lands.


It looks like Tank Abott has been cut.
Hunt fails in his attempt to clinch.

Hunt clinches.

Hunt breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hunt shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Abott but Abott pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Abott tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Abott closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Hunt's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Abott trying to control but Hunt is working from the bottom.

Abott stands and steps away. Hunt gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Abott blocks a head kick by Hunt.
Abott shoots in looking for a takedown but Hunt manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Abott's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Hunt throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Abott leaves Hunt with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Hunt is breathing heavily.
Hunt needs to keep his hands up - Abott had a free shot at his head there.

Abott shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hunt napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Abott taking a break here but Hunt is having none of it and regains half guard.
Abott wants to control but Hunt is keeping him busy.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Abott thows a huge punch but Hunt dodges it nicely.
Abott looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Hunt wants to get back to his feet.
Abott winds up and cracks Hunt with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Hunt moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Abott throws a strike but Hunt rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Hunt trying to control but Abott is working from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Abott wants to control but Hunt passes easily into half guard.
Abott wants to get back to his feet.
Abott is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hunt is looking to take a break and control but Abott is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Hunt is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Abott has managed to free his arm - good work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tank Abott dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Tank Abott's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Hunt fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Hunt closes the distance but Abott moves to the side

and Abott counters with a shoot takedown. Hunt fights it but they end up in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Abott wants to control from the top but Hunt keeps moving.
Abott seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Hunt has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Abott off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Hunt tries to clinch but Abott moves out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hunt wants to clinch up but Abott keeps it at a distance.

Abott throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hunt was covering up waiting for the punch and Abott finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Abott won't allow Hunt to sweep him here.

Abott stands and steps away. Hunt gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Abott looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Hunt doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Abott counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Abott.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Abott is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Abott trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Hunt is trying to control the position but Abott postures up.
Hunt wants to stand up but Abott is controlling him.
Abott must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Hunt is looking to stand back up but Abott counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Hunt.

Hunt is staying active underneath Abott, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Abott in particular looking to stall.
Abott is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Tank Abott.
Hunt misses with a few strikes there.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Abott.
Hunt changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Abott tries to avoid it but Hunt manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Abott to the ground. Abott escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Hunt. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Hunt holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Hunt tries for a takedown. No joy.

Abott ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Abott no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Hunt trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Abott looking for a sweep. Not yet Abott, not yet.

Abott is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hunt is aware though and is defending well.
Abott preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Tank Abott has got the better of the ground game so far.
Abott can't keep his opponent in guard - Hunt advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Hunt uses his free foot to push down on Abott's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Abott.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Tank Abott showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Hunt throws a nice looking combination but Abott bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Mark Hunt is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Abott tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hunt swivels and escapes.

Hunt takes the fight into the clinch.

Hunt breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Abott clinches up against the cage.
Hunt wants to break free but Abott has control.
Hunt is trying to push Abott away but Abott has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Hunt is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Abott to keep the fight standing.
Abott is pressed up against the cage. Hunt has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Abott down to the mat. Abott avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Abott fails with an attempt to clinch.

Abott closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Abott lands in his opponent's guard.
Abott wants to control from the top but Hunt keeps moving.

Hunt wriggles free and stands up.
Abott tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hunt paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Hunt misses with a body kick.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hunt.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Abott throws a sloppy head kick and Hunt moves out of range easily.
Abott is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Hunt.

Abott misses with a knee to the head.

Hunt breaks the clinch.
Hunt shoots in for a takedown but Abott shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

and Abott counters with a right hand to the body.

Hunt is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Abott is aware though and is defending well.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Tank Abott wasn't active enough on the ground.
Hunt misses with a takedown attempt - Abott sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Abott scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The referee asks Abott politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Abott prefers to stall for the moment though.
Hunt tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Abott wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Abott stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Abott shoots in but Hunt avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Hunt throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Abott.

Abott looking to score a takedown here. Hunt is defending well but Abott drives through and ends up in Hunt's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hunt wants to sweep but no luck.

Hunt working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Abott doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Abott manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Abott gets to his feet. Hunt looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

And that's the end of the fight!
Tank Abott comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Abott winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
