Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Peters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Slaughter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Slaughter is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Bulldozer - Goldishack Guerrillas. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, David Peters! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Josh Slaughter! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Slaughter gets the takedown into side control. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Slaughter trying to control the position but Peters is working away. Slaughter scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Peters to see if he's OK. An elbow from Slaughter crashes against the mat.
Slaughter wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Peters, who protects the arm well. Slaughter throws an elbow but Peters slips to the side and avoids it well. Slaughter postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Peters avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Slaughter. Peters managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Slaughter.
Peters manages to get back to half guard. Peters tries to roll over but Slaughter keeps him under control. Slaughter sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Peters defending well though. Slaughter not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Peters is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Peters has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Slaughter is working away from the top position though. Slaughter is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Slaughter throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Slaughter is trying to work for a kimura but Peters is defending well.
Slaughter throws a strike but Peters avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Slaughter must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Slaughter wants to control from the top but Peters keeps moving. Peters avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Peters looking for a sweep. Not yet Peters, not yet. Slaughter throws a big right hand that misses. Peters utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Slaughter preventing the sweep. Slaughter postures up in Peters's guard and throws a big left but Peters blocks it. Peters working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Slaughter. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Slaughter throws a big right hand that misses. Slaughter missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Slaughter stopping the sweep attempt from Peters. Slaughter postures up in Peters's guard and throws a big left but Peters blocks it. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Slaughter throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Peters works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Slaughter working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Peters avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Slaughter throws a big elbow that misses. That's three minutes gone in the round. Slaughter postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Slaughter trying to control the position from guard on top but Peters is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Peters looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Slaughter postures up in Peters's guard and throws a big left but Peters blocks it. Slaughter throws a strike but Peters rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Peters passes Slaughter's left leg - he's now in half guard. Peters is working for a submission of some sort.
Peters wants to free his trapped foot but Slaughter is holding on for dear life with his legs. Slaughter trying to control but Peters postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Peters throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Slaughter makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Slaughter. Slaughter is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Slaughter is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Peters is staying active underneath Slaughter, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Slaughter with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Slaughter missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Slaughter is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Peters regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Slaughter. Peters preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Josh Slaughter dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Peters looks to land a combination but Slaughter avoids it well. Peters falls off balance throwing a combination
and Slaughter counters with a takedown into side control. Slaughter working away. Slaughter throwing shots but missing, from side control. Peters wants to control but Slaughter postures up. Slaughter tries to move into full mount but can't pass Peters's legs. Slaughter looks up at the clock and then as Peters takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Slaughter smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Slaughter is looking to take a break and control but Peters is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Slaughter working the ground and pound but Peters is defending the strikes. Peters takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Slaughter in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Peters is trying to improve his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Slaughter working the ground and pound but Peters is defending the strikes. Slaughter creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Peters sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Slaughter looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Slaughter tries to score with some ground and pound. Peters controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. You can see the frustration on Peters's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Slaughter throws an elbow but Peters slips to the side and avoids it well. The strikes coming from Slaughter are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Peters tries to improve position but can't. Peters taking punishment in the form of punches.
Slaughter trying to control the action but Peters is working from the bottom. Slaughter lands a few punches from side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Peters tries to get back to half guard but can't. Slaughter has hold of Peters's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Peters tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Slaughter cranks the arm and Peters screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Peters, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
