Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ashida Kai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tuomas Uusierkki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kai kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Die Antwoord - "Fish Paste". The crowd seem to be enjoying Uusierkki's choice of entrance music: E-Z Rollers - Haze. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Uusierkki shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The fighters are battling for position here. Kai manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Uusierkki is looking to work some ground and pound but Kai has wrist control.
Uusierkki postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Uusierkki accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Uusierkki throws an elbow that misses. Kai uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Uusierkki's guard. Nice move by Kai!

Kai looking to sit in guard and control but Uusierkki gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kai is on top in guard.

Kai decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Kai thumps Uusierkki with a low kick.
Kai feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Uusierkki's calf.
Uusierkki wants to clinch
and Kai cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
A left and a right from Kai both land. Nice combination.
Uusierkki tries to close the distance and clinch but Kai swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Tuomas Uusierkki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kai lands a head kick!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Uusierkki bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Kai avoids the body shot from Uusierkki.

It looks like Tuomas Uusierkki has been cut.
Kai dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Uusierkki. That did some damage!
Uusierkki walks forward, straight into a front kick from Kai.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Kai throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Uusierkki has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Kai.
Uusierkki shoots in but no luck this time.
Uusierkki looks gassed!
Kai lands a nice looking kick to the body. Uusierkki takes a step back to recover.
Kai scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Uusierkki doesn't seem bothered though.
Kai moves away from the strike by Uusierkki.
Both fighters circling a little - Kai finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Kai fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Uusierkki has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Uusierkki has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Kai.
Kai lands a brutal head kick. Uusierkki looks out on his feet and Kai throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick and Punches). Ashida Kai!
A relieved looking Ashida Kai thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
