Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Karl Kennedy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mario Byrd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Byrd is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: "99 Problems" by Jay-Z. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Karl Kennedy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mario Byrd!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Anthony Taglia and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kennedy tries to close the distance and clinch up but Byrd swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Byrd has taken the fight to the clinch.
Kennedy tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Byrd tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Byrd has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Kennedy avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Kennedy throws a knee to the head but misses.
Byrd lands a takedown into guard.
Byrd wants to pass the guard but Kennedy is keeping the position.
Byrd drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Kennedy manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Byrd has Kennedy in his guard.
Byrd has a closed guard, preventing Kennedy from standing up.
Kennedy postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Kennedy avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Kennedy has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Byrd to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Kennedy is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Byrd pulls down on the head and he's put Kennedy to sleep! This one is all over!
