Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Saul Goodman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcel Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Martin comes into a darkened arena with his song building. RAWR kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goodman doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Martin counters with a head kick. That will keep Goodman thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Goodman tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Martin swivels and escapes.
Martin keeps Goodman at a distance using the push kick.
Goodman moves out of range of the body kick from Martin.

Martin throws a leg kick which misses Goodman's front leg but catches the back leg as Goodman tries to avoid it.

Martin throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Goodman tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Martin is in Goodman's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Goodman looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Martin has picked Goodman up and slammed him! Goodman can't keep hold of the triangle and Martin manages to pass to side control!

Goodman bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Martin's guard.
Goodman is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Martin is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Martin has escaped and now he's on top!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Martin decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Martin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Martin wants it to stay on the feet.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Goodman. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Martin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Goodman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Martin will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Goodman tries to score a power double leg takedown but Martin sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Goodman somewhat.

Goodman closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Martin feints and as Goodman raises his hands in defense, Martin changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Goodman on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
