Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
17 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Frank Killer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pj Veenstra! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Patrick Alders and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Veenstra closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Killer to the mat! Killer manages to get full guard. Veenstra is looking to work some ground and pound but Killer has wrist control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Veenstra wants to pass the guard but Killer is keeping the position. Veenstra throwing strikes but missing. Killer keeping moving, preventing Veenstra from controlling successfully. Killer is trying to control the position but Veenstra postures up. Veenstra passes easily into side control. Nice work. Veenstra tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Veenstra has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's one minute gone in the round. Veenstra tries to move to mount but Killer blocks the move with his legs. Veenstra swings around for an armbar but Killer sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Veenstra's guard. Veenstra is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Veenstra has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Killer can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Killer tries to stand but Veenstra is controlling from the bottom. Veenstra escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Killer gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Veenstra has a closed guard, preventing Killer from standing up. Killer is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Veenstra has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Killer is looking to defend but Veenstra has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Killer! Veenstra pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Killer taps out and this one is all over!
