Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Seamus O Donnell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Noonan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). O Donnell comes to the cage accompanied by Fields of Athenry. Noonan has chosen 3DD - Kryptonite as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Seamus O Donnell!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Michael Noonan!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Paulsen Ambrosius and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
O Donnell attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Noonan clinches up against the cage.
O Donnell is trying to break the clinch but Noonan is controlling him.
Noonan tries to throw a body punch but O Donnell avoids it by throwing Noonan back against the cage.
Noonan swings wildly with an uppercut but O Donnell uses good head movement to avoid it.
O Donnell is trying to break the clinch but Noonan has him pressed against the cage.
Noonan is trying to work for a single leg takedown but O Donnell pulls him back up using the underhooks.
O Donnell wants to break the clinch but can't.
O Donnell is trying to break the clinch but Noonan is controlling him.

Noonan turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Noonan manages to end up in side control.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Noonan wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by O Donnell, who protects the arm well.
O Donnell tries to buck Noonan off but Noonan is having none of it.

Noonan thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Noonan misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

O Donnell manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Noonan is looking to take a break and control but O Donnell is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Noonan looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks O Donnell with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
O Donnell keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Noonan perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Noonan is looking for a kimura but O Donnell is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Noonan to get the leverage.
Noonan thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Noonan tries to pass the half guard into mount. O Donnell knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Noonan is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Noonan throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for O Donnell because Noonan loaded up on that one.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Noonan has hold of O Donnell's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and O Donnell manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Noonan can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as O Donnell is looking to escape.

O Donnell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Noonan on the ground.
It looks like Noonan might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Let's hope that Noonan has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Noonan gets through O Donnell's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

O Donnell manages to break the clinch.
Noonan scores with a decent looking hook.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from O Donnell lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Noonan has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Noonan and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
No joy there for Noonan, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
O Donnell thuds his shin into the meat of Noonan's side.
Noonan has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by O Donnell.
O Donnell throws a low kick but Noonan moves out of range easily.

O Donnell tries to work over Noonan's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

O Donnell looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Noonan has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but O Donnell regains guard immediately.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Noonan throws an elbow that misses. O Donnell uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Noonan's guard. Nice move by O Donnell!
O Donnell stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Noonan swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Noonan is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and O Donnell defends well.

O Donnell got a little sloppy there for a moment and Noonan has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, O Donnell has managed to get both his arms back between Noonan's legs - danger averted.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Noonan connects with a nice short shot to O Donnell's temple.

Noonan is going oldschool here, as he tries to force O Donnell to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so O Donnell shrugs it off.

Well Noonan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
